Trivia

Scriptwriter Tom Mankiewicz wrote a script for this movie which was not used. Apparently sections of it ended up in Octopussy (the Acrostar jet sequence) and A View to a Kill (the Eiffel Tower sequence). Mankiewicz had previously written scripts for Diamonds Are Forever, Live and Let Die and The Man with the Golden Gun. See more »

Goofs

Plot holes: When Goodhead asks Bond about the lethal bacteria satellites on board the space station, he says not to worry as they will be destroyed when the space station breaks up. At that point, however, with zero knowledge of the station's design, Bond has no reason to expect this whatsoever. The first explosion and failure of the superstructure indeed happens a split second AFTER Bond's reply. See more »
