Sanjeev Kumar had liked his role in this film and he was appreciated. This was the second film he played the leader Thakur, Sholay being the first. Jaani Dushman is the only film in which Sanjeev Kumar and filmaker Rajkumar Kohli came together. See more »
Rajkumar Kohli made several horror films in 70's and 80's which were hits After NAGIN(1976) Rajkumar Kohli came back with another horror film JAANI DUSHMAN(1979)
JAANI DUSHMAN is in tradition of Ramsays a complete horror film it deals with murders of brides on their wedding day
Suspense is maintained till the end who is the culprit
The film also has a love triangle, songs, dances and some futile comedy forced in
The film manages to scare the daylights in parts but tends to drag and at times it looks foolhardy too
The climax is good, the suspense is unveiled though the culmination of the real Ghost is left unsolved
Direction by Rajkumar Kohli is decent Music is okay
Amongst actors Sanjeev Kumar excels in his role as usual Sunil Dutt is good while Shatrughan Sinha too does a good job Rekha is passable, Bhairavi Goswami and Reena Roy are okay Amrish Puri is good while Raza Murad is as usual
