IN SEARCH OF ANNA is one of the very first Australian "search for elusive happiness" films which plagued the 1980s. Most of them seem to feature Moir, who makes one of his earlier appearances here as a young man freed after serving 6 years at Pentridge. He wants more than anything to find his ex-girlfriend 'Anna', from whom he hasn't heard for three years, but upon beginning his search he meets a depressed model (Morris) and the two begin a lasting relationship in a desperate search, not for 'Anna' (who was Moir's image of happiness during his time in prison), but for happiness itself. One of the first, but not one of the best, the story is told in two timelines simultaneously, which becomes mildly confusing toward the end and doesn't seem to add much to the finished product. Rating: 63/100.
