Saturday Night Fever- TV Style
8 July 2015 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

As an aficionado of 1970's TV, I barely remember Makin' It and I am kinda ashamed for saying that! Maybe because the series barely lasted 2 months might be the reason. David Naughton of those Dr.Pepper commercials stars as the Tony Manero-like character working as a food attendant by day and a disco dancing king by night. He has 3 friends who hold court with him at the local discotheque,a street wise sister (played by the Brooklyn born actress Denise Miller, who I always enjoyed and wished she was still around in front of the camera),Rebecca Balding as the Karen Lynn Gorney-esque character from Fever and the object of the lead character's interest. Add Ellen Travolta (John's sister) and you have a sure fire TV hit trying to cash in on the success of Saturday Night Fever right? Not really. The timing is all off but the one success that came out of this short lived sitcom was the title song sung by Naughton which became a top ten hit back in 1979. I would love to see this again so off to look on Amazon for the DVD.
