Thelma is unhappy with her love life and so she buys the book 'More Joy of Sex' to revive Ted's interest. It's Greta and Bruno's first wedding anniversary and Thelma has invited them to dinner, much to Ted's displeasure.

Thelma is fed up with Craig and Ted fighting at the breakfast table and decides to go out in her Datsun. Unfortunately, she is hospitalised after an accident. She is not seriously hurt but Greta and Bruno move back to look after Ted.

Season 2, Episode 1: Bye Bye Budgie

It's Greta and Bruno's third wedding anniversary. Thelma gives them a toaster and Ted gives them a crow in a budgie cage. Ted has to have a medical for his insurance policy and he is upset when he finds out that the doctor is a woman.

The Bullpitt house is broken into but nothing seems to have been stolen. Thelma decides that Craig must have started sleep walking again. Ted comes up with a plan to catch Craig sleep walking.

Thelma is entering a TV Week Celebrity Recipe competition and the family are helping her select her entry. She enters her Graham Kennedy meat loaf and it turns out that she won first prize, which is a visit by Graham Kennedy.

Craig was arrested for throwing a can of beer at an anti-uranium demonstration but he is proved innocent. Ted then gets the idea that the Bullpitt name has been defamed and goes to the police station to sort it out.

Bob and Merle come around for dinner at Ted and Thelma's. They spend the time fighting and the next day they split up. Bob moves in with Ted and Thelma. So Thelma hatches a plan to get them back together.

Thelma wins a trip to Rome for eight days. When Ted refuses to go, she takes Rosa, Bruno's mother. Enzo, Bruno's father, moves in with Ted and there is the inevitable clash of cultures.

It is the AIF 2nd field kitchen's annual reunion and Ted is to provide the entertainment. He decides to become a comedian and tell jokes. However, Ted doesn't have a sense of humour.

Season 2, Episode 8: The Miracle of Wombat Crescent

Thelma makes $300 selling hand crafts. Ted finds where Thelma has hidden the money and uses it to bulk buy Whammo, the miracle detergent. He intends to sell it door-to-door for a profit. However, Whammo doesn't work as expected.

Season 2, Episode 9: Guess Who's Burning the Dinner

Bob and Merle are coming around to the Bullpitt home for a BBQ. Bob and Ted end up make a huge bet. Ted has to give up eating and drinking for 24 hours or he'll lose the Kingswood, and Bob has to give up smoking.

Season 2, Episode 10: The Bard of Wombat Crescent

20 August 1980
When he finds out that there is a $5000 first prize for writing a play, Ted decides to write about his time in the second World War when he assassinated Adolf Hitler. He then puts the play on in his lounge room.

Ted has the surprising news that he is applying to become an executive, the sales manager at head officer. When he receives extra money in his pay he thinks that he has the job. It goes to Ted's head and he starts acting like an executive.

Ted parks the Kingswood in what he thinks is a disused bus stop and then receives a parking ticket. He refuses to pay the fine and decides to fight the case in court.

Season 2, Episode 13: Till Yodelling Do Us Part

Bruno challenges Ted to break a world record and so he decides to try and break the record for yodeling. The subsequent noise causes a lot of disruption and disharmony in the family.

Season 3, Episode 1: Sale of the Century

When the Bullpitts receive a very high petrol bill they decide that they must economise. Ted decides to sell the Kingswood but has an inflated idea of its worth.

Bruno is having his 30th birthday party at the Bullpits but the new neighbours next door are having a better house warming party. Ted tries to outdo the neighbours with a better party.

Season 3, Episode 3: The Roots of Bullpitt

Thelma has been studying the Bullpitt family history. She finds out that Ted is the direct descendant and heir to the title of Lord Bullpitt. Being a Lord causes Ted to get carried away.

Bob and Merle have broken up again and Thelma wants to get them back together. However, Bob already has a new girlfriend so Merle is advised to have an affair. It seems that the only suitable man available is Ted.

It's tax time and Ted finds himself being investigated by the tax office over some of his more dubious tax deductions. Ted then finds himself relying on Sister Maria from the local catholic school to get himself out of trouble.

Thelma finds a kitten in the backyard and wants to keep it. The only problem will be Ted, who hates cats. Bruno bets Ted $200 that he can't grow a moustache in a week, and is surprised when he does.

Bob's performances in his advertisements on TV have led to him being asked to become a television star. Ted doesn't believe Bob can do it so he makes a bet that it won't happen. Bob and Bruno hatch up a scheme to win the bet.

Thelma finally wins a competition with first prize being the exotic trip of a lifetime. Ted wins a skateboard and Bruno bets him $10 that he can't ride it. Ted breaks his leg proving that Bruno was correct.

Ted is on strike and money becomes tight. Bruno helps Ted get a job at Rose Hill racecourse, but the job is not quite what he expected. Thelma goes shopping and buys herself an engagement ring for their wedding anniversary.

Ted rescues a champion racing pigeon that turns out to have a reward for its return. Craig wants to save the gum tree in the front nature strip threatened with cutting down by the local council but Ted wants it gone.

Thelma is elected to find all the entertainers at the local catholic church charity concert. Craig and Wendy offer to do a Swiss musical act. When Craig sprains his ankle, Ted is needed to fill in.

The Bullpitt home has a possum and the roof and Ted is determined to get rid of it. It's the Bullpitt family annual BBQ day and, predictably, the weather is wet. Bob comes up with some ill-fated schemes to get rid of the possum.

Season 3, Episode 20: Every Dog Has Its Pay

Ted collects the pay packet for the workplace bully Mad-Dog Davis. Unfortunately, he loses it on the way home and Mad-Dog is not happy. The pay packet is found but both Ted and Mad-Dog end up being arrested and put in jail.

Season 4, Episode 1: A Lode of Old Bullpitt

Ted has taken up jogging and camping in the backyard. Thelma asks the doctor to call and only then does the reason come to light. Ted was left a treasure map and he is in training to find the gold. Ted and Bruno then go looking for it.

Season 4, Episode 2: Briefcase Encounter

3 June 1982
Ted is doing a course to turn himself into a positive, dynamic person and he decides to use his new personality to make a career change. He applies for a job as an executive but the interview doesn't quite go as planned.

Season 4, Episode 3: Partying Is Such Sweet Sorrow

Thelma tries a new recipe when Bob and Merle pay a visit, and when it doesn't work it starts a disagreement with Ted. Merle convinces Thelma to move out, and Bob moves in and livens up the place with one of his parties.

With Thelma's birthday coming up Ted has to decide what to get her. She wants a dishwasher but Ted thinks she needs a wall safe. He also gets her the services of a butler for a weekend. What could go wrong?

When Ted finds out that Bruno's uncle Tony is an illegal immigrant he dobs him into the government. On the day of Tony's immigration hearing, Bruno helps out by running his uncle's fruit and vegetable shop, with Ted's help.

When Thelma tells Ted that her Aunty Vi is very rich he starts scheming to get rich quick using her money. The family then schemes together to teach him a lesson.

Bob is ecstatic when he finds out that he is no longer married to Merle. That is, until he realises that all their assets are in her name. Bob then sets out to woo her back and remarry her.

Ted has a toothache and very reluctantly has to visit the dentist. At the same time, he is having trouble with a neighbourhood poodle that keeps biting him. So he paints it blue.

To get a promotion at work, Ted thinks that he has to join the Brotherhood of Wombats as his boss is a member. Unfortunately, the initiation rituals that he has to perform do him no good.

Season 4, Episode 10: It's a Bird! It's a Plane! It's a Tile!

A heat shield tile falls off the NASA space shuttle during its reentry and falls on Ted as he is reading the paper. He temporarily suffers from amnesia and, despite his memory returning, Ted decides to sue the Americans.

Bruno is off on his annual fishing trip with a group of friends. Ted wants to go as well but, after the trouble he caused last year, nobody wants him to go. Fortunately, the weather intervenes and the trip is cancelled.

Ted finds out that his driving licence is two years out of date and that he has to resit the licence test. Craig and Wendy's flat caught fire and they move back in to the Bullpitt home.

Ted and Bruno are approached in the pub by an advertising executive to be in a beer commercial endorsing a new beer. There is intense rivalry between them as they fight to get the job.

Thelma is off to Europe for six months and Ted is left to fend for himself. Things are not going well, and then Bob and Merle move in, which makes the problems worse. Bruno's mother solves Ted's difficulties by agreeing to look after him.

Rosa invites a neighbour, who happens to be a ventriloquist, to dinner. He brings his doll, Sparky. Sparky has a life of its own and Ted ends up with it. Ted then decides to embark on a career in show business.

Ted places a bet on a chess match and wins the contract to a boxer. Ted decides to become a boxing trainer and starts training him for a fight. However, Rosa can see that the boxer's heart is not in the fight.

Ted is broke and resorts to gambling to replenish his money. However, his betting on the horses doesn't go to plan, especially when he has no money to start with.

A man arrives from Brisbane claiming to be Ted's long-lost illegitimate son. Ted is confused as he has never been to Brisbane and it only becomes clear when Bob arrives for dinner.

Craig invites Ted to the annual doctors versus nurses cricket match and Ted is eager to come out of retirement to play. However, it soon becomes obvious that he has no idea about playing cricket.

After reading a notice in the newspaper, Ted contacts a solicitor about whether he is the sole heir of a Scottish laird called McBullpitt. To cover the solicitor's expenses, Ted has to come up with $5000, which is not an easy thing to do.

An itinerant gypsy puts a curse on Ted when he refuses to pay her in exchange for telling his future. The curse is that he will have hiccups for seven days and nights. Craig has to find the gypsy in order to remove the curse.

Thelma's cousin Reg is staying with Ted whilst he is in town looking for a woman to be his wife. To get rid of him as quickly as possible Ted decides to help things along.

When Bob and Merle come round for dinner, Bob suggests that they bring out the Ouija board. They contact Black Jack, who is a pirate. He tells them that there is gold buried in Ted's front yard.

Season 5, Episode 1: Ted Bullpitt Meets the Lone Arranger

When Ted's work reduces his hours he tosses in his job. Bob convinces him to go into partnership selling donuts. All they need is $15000 to start the business and buy a donut truck. They head off to the bank for a loan.

Season 5, Episode 2: Better Dead Than Red

Ted decides to paint the lounge room ceiling. He buys some paint and wins a prize of a free funeral and cemetery plot. However, the paint turns out to be red. A tin is spilt on his chair and so it needs repair. How can he pay for it?

Season 5, Episode 3: A Whole New Ball Game

Ted takes over coaching Craig's basketball team and they start winning. When their star player breaks his led, Ted imports a ring-in to win the final match.

Season 5, Episode 4: Birth of a Salesman

Ted is broke and borrows $500 from his brother Bob. In return, Bob expects Ted to do a commercial for his Datsun car business. The ads turn out to be very successful and Bob's business is booming.

Ted reads in his pay packet that he has been sacked. Sister Maria offers to give him an aptitude test, which determines that Ted is only suitable to be a process worker. Fortunately, Craig finds out that Ted hadn't really been sacked.

Ted buys a cheap burglar alarm from Thelma's cousin Reg and then tries to sell it to Bruno. When Bruno refuses, Ted hatches a plan to convince him that he needs one.

Season 5, Episode 7: Caught in the Act

Merle is producing a play that she wrote. She is also acting in it, starring opposite Bob. Ted helps Bob learn his lines by playing Merle's part, which comes in handy when Merle injures herself. Ted rises to the challenge.

When having a clear out, some of the rubbish includes Ted's old magic equipment. He was an escapologist known as Ted Bullpitt, the Human Eel. However, time has meant that Ted is no longer able to do the tricks like he used to.

Ted is having trouble sleeping so Rosa offers to change bedrooms with him. Then, when Craig hears Ted is taking Rosa out to dinner, all the children think they are having an affair.

Merle's fashion style is found wanting but Bob tries to placate her by forging a letter from Hazel Hawke asking that she design a wardrobe for her. When Merle starts making the clothes Bob has to find a way to let her know what he's done.

Bob tries to convince Ted and Craig to provide an alibi for him as he goes up to the snow for the weekend with his latest girlfriend. When Merle finds out, Bob has to hurriedly change his plans.

Season 6, Episode 2: Red Faced Brigade

Ted goes to the Kingswood Owners Club fancy dress ball as King Felix of Krasnai. However, some revolutionaries think he is the real king and kidnap him. They hold Ted and Bruno for $1.5 million ransom.

Ted receives a letter telling him his auntie Nola has died and she has asked him to look after her twin boys. Ted is not interested until he finds out that they have plenty of money.

Bob wants Ted to invest in radar absorbing paint, designed so that speeding cars will not be detected by the police. The Japanese inventor comes round to the Bullpitt house for a BBQ.

After a futile game of Monopoly, Ted sells Bruno what he thinks is a worthless stamp album. When Craig examines the album he finds that there is a rare stamp worth $45 000. Ted wants the album back.

When Ted, Rosa and Greta go to the ballet, the Bullpitt television is stolen. To combat the crime wave, Ted decides to form a neighbourhood vigilante group, Bullpitts Raiders.

Season 6, Episode 7: Snow White and the Seven Jockeys

Bob persuades Ted to go into the video hire business, with Ted being Captain Video and delivering the videos on a motor cycle. What Bob doesn't tell Ted is that they are blue movies, which causes problems with the police and Sister Maria.

Ted is going through a mid-life crisis so he decides to chuck in his job with putty and head to the Antarctica. But first he has to be selected.

Season 6, Episode 9: Sail of the Century

Ted enters a lone round-the-world yacht race. To raise the money Ted first has to sell the house.

Season 6, Episode 10: The Butler Dunnit!

Bob has decided to sell his car yard so he can go into oyster farming. To impress the potential buyer, Ted and Greta fill in as the butler and maid for the dinner Bob and Merle are having.
