James Best also left the series temporarily during season two over a dispute regarding the dressing rooms. He was replaced by Jeff Altman as Hughie Hogg, followed by Clifton James as Lester Crabb, Dick Sargent as Grady Byrd, and James Hampton as Buster Moon. Altman and James were listed as guest star sheriffs, while Byrd and Hampton were actually listed in the opening credits. A main plot point of the series was Bo and Luke's probation, which restricted them from legally leaving Hazzard County. However, when actors Tom Wopat and John Schneider walked off set over salary disputes at the start of Season 5, the characters of Bo and Luke were temporally written off the show and replaced by look-alike cousins Coy Duke (Byron Cherry) and Vance Duke (Christopher Mayer). This move was explained by informing viewers that Bo and Luke had left Hazzard County to race as professional NASCAR drivers. The Dukes of Hazzard is and always will be the best show ever made.I love it now and always will! John Schneider is the hottest guy to ever walk the earth. Dukes of Hazzard is rocks this world its that awesome! Its a wonderful family oriented show that contains awesome actors. Its one in a million. They don't make these kind of shows anymore.There was chemistry between the actors that you don't find a lot.I don't think there could be any actors that could of done a better job than what they did. If ti weren't for the general lee there wolud have been no show. Its a perfect show with a perfect meaning perfect actors perfect episodes perfecet everything itd just a perfect show. I love it and always will just like i said before. I hope they never stop selling the episodes and merchandise or take it off the air.
