A vintage movie for rednecks.

This TV movie had a lot going for it to appeal to rural American
viewers of the 1970s. Johnny and June Carter Cash and the whole state
of Texas. Johnny plays Thaddeus Rose, and Bo Hopkins plays Eddie. They
are two ranching "piddlers" who will never make it big. T.R. drives a
1959 or 1960 Ford pickup. Eddie drives an El Camino with a stock rack.
He takes up chasing a woman named Carlotta. A real estate dealer talks
T.R. into trading his ranch for a citrus grove in the Rio Grande
Valley. He moves there and finds the house a mess. He has a good
Spanish-speaking man working for him, though. His citrus crop gets
frozen, and he goes back to ranch country a loser. He and Eddie get
into trouble for throwing a tomato at the Sheriff or something. T.R.
gets back together with his ex- or separated wife Crystal, though.
