Errors in geography
This mistake is compounded when Superman (who is later shown to be able fly at/above the speed of light) is unable to catch both missiles. While Ballistic missiles fly at hypersonic speeds, cruise missiles are limited subsonic speeds ( at the time, no supersonic cruise missiles had been invented). Superman should have been able to catch them both if they were indeed cruise missiles as they were mistakenly presented as being.

Even if relativity was taken into account, Clark was shown having aged from an infant to only a toddler during his journey, While it was possible that a short trip this may have occurred (<100 light years) for Krypton to have died hundreds or thousands of years ago, then Clark would have at least aged into his teens or early adulthood by that time. SInce his craft was obviously too small for him to grown to that level of development, then some sort of hyperspace must have been involved, rendering Jor-El's statement meaningless.
