Parents Guide for
Jaws 2 (1978) More at IMDbPro »

The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that, instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, you use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

3/10

Some mild sexual references.

A teenage couple make out twice.

Violence & Gore

5/10

Several people are attacked and killed by a shark, but we never see their actual deaths. Sometimes we see nothing; occasionally we see some blood in the water, but nothing graphic.

Brody finds the burnt corpse of a woman who was involved in a boating accident.

A killer whale is found with a large chunk bitten out of its face.

We are told a diver suffered an embolism.

The shark is electrocuted and dies.

Profanity

6/10

About 15 uses of the "S" word, 12 of Jesus' name, about 14 uses of God's name, including 8 pairings with d*mn, SOB is said about 4 times, *ss is said 8 times, d*mn is said 7 times, H*ll is said 7 times, and B*stard is said once.

2/10

Brody is said to be drunk in one scene. He appears to be a little bit so.

7/10

The shark attacks can be intense and somewhat scary - they are usually accompanied by frightening music and lots of suspense.

This is the least violent of all the Jaws films and would be appropriate for 11+ if they can handle several implied deaths.

Overall: 23/50
