Vox Media, Go90 Begin Partnership With True Crime Sports Series From Sb Nation

Vox Media has spent the last few years scaling up its video operation, to the point that its 2017 NewFronts presentation included a full slate of shows. Now, the media company is adding one of the busiest platforms in the digital media space to its roster of distribution partners. Its Sb Nation brand will present Foul Play, a docu-series that will tell true crime stories from the world of sports, on Verizon's Go90.

Each episode of Foul Play will investigate "an untold story of the sports world’s most legendary scandals, crimes, heists, and falls from grace," according to Variety, which first reported the news of the pickup. That approach sounds similar to the one employed by 30 for 30, the Espn docu-series that has won an endless stream of awards since it first hit airwaves in 2009. Unsurprisingly, the showrunner behind Foul Play, Charles Kreisa, has worked on a few 30 for 30 episodes in the past.

Film Review: ‘Snatched’

Film Review: ‘Snatched’
Amy Schumer is one of those rare comic artists, like Louis C.K. or Chris Rock, who can get you laughing out loud at reality. Two years ago, she carried that scorched-earth impulse right into her first movie, the fearlessly funny and close-to-the-bone “Trainwreck.” Written by Schumer herself, and directed by Judd Apatow, it was the most audacious romantic comedy in years — and the most satisfying, too — because it touched a nerve of almost masochistic sincerity. In “Snatched,” her first movie since “Trainwreck,” Schumer gets cast as a loser who’s even further down on the totem pole of respectability. It’s a sign of Schumer’s rapport with the audience that in the opening scene, where she appears to be playing the most annoying off-the-rack clothing-store customer in history (it turns out she’s actually the sales person), the deeper the hole she digs for herself, the more we like her.

SS-gb episode 1 review

Louisa Mellor Feb 19, 2017

This new BBC Len Deighton adaptation SS-gb imagines an alternative 1941 in which Germany won the Battle of Britain

This review contains spoilers.

Nuance and Nazis rarely go hand in hand. It's the skulls on the hats - they invite more shades of pantomime than subtlety. Mega successful Bond screenwriters Neal Purvis and Robert Wade don't miss an opportunity for Nazi or noir cliché in the first episode of SS-gb, their five-part adaptation of Len Deighton’s bestselling alt-history novel.

We’re introduced to high-ranking Nazi officer Standartenführer Huth (Lars Eidinger) overseeing an autopsy from the shadows. His subordinate Kellerman (Rainer Bock) has “the subtlety of a pig” he complains, before stubbing out his cigarette in a specimen dish and stalking off, black cane in leather-gloved hand, promising our hero “We are going to be busy,

Sundance 2017: Wind River Review

  • HeyUGuys
Author: Nathan McVay

On Saturday night at the Sundance Film Festival the audiences in Park City, Utah were let in on a little secret. Taylor Sheridan is a Hollywood super power and a star on the rise.

Sheridan has had an amazing last two years with his critically acclaimed screenplays in Sicario and Hell or High Water. Both of these films brought many awards Sheridan’s way for his amazing use of realism, tone and brevity. So it was with much anticipation that we waited to see what his directorial debut, Wind River, would bring.

It is one of the most complete, beautiful, moving and thrilling films I have ever seen at Sundance. Sheridan’s incredible script makes this film erupt off the page and his direction allows his beautiful words to shine.

Jeremy Renner delivers quite possibly the greatest performance of his career playing the enigmatic Cory Lambert. Lambert

Watch: Heartbreak Leads to Hollywood Horror in Exclusive People Magazine Investigates Clip
It was a grisly discovery by a dog walker and her mother, made in early 2012 along a trail leading to the famed “Hollywood” sign: the severed head of a 66-year-old man.

In time, authorities would reveal that the head had belonged to Hervey Medellin, a former Mexicana Airlines clerk and art collector. His feet and hands were located about 50 yards away from the cave’s entrance, and years later, the rest of Medellin’s remains were retrieved from deep inside the cave.

Immediately, investigators zeroed in on Medellin’s boyfriend and roommate, Gabriel Campos-Martinez.

Police suspected the relationship soured

Megyn Kelly Memoir Bombshell: Was the Fox News Anchor Poisoned Prior to First Republican Primary Debate?
Megyn Kelly‘s tense relationship with President-Elect Donald Trump is about to get a lot more strained.

According to the New York Times, the Fox News anchor reveals in her new memoir that Trump was tipped off about a question she was going to ask in the first first Republican presidential primary debate (which she moderated).

Per the excerpt, the day before the debate, an enraged Trump called Fox execs because he heard her first question “was a very pointed” one “directed at him,” she writes. This spooked her because it was true — the first question dealt with Trump’s misogynistic language about women.

Video Game Review – Foul Play

Kris Wall reviews Foul Play

Foul Play casts you as renowned Victorian daemonlogist, Baron Dashforth as he recounts his greatest adventure live on stage, For One Night Only! Aided by his loyal sidekick, Mr Scampwick, the duo must battle their way across 5 acts in a series of side scrolling brawls that harken back to days of Streets of Rage and Final Fight. The twist being that Dashforth and Scampwick have an audience to thrill and entertain as they tell their story, however unbelievable the tale may seem (It’s told with nothing but complete conviction by Baron Dashforth throughout).

The ace up Foul Play’s sleeve is in its inspired design and mischievous humour. The whole game is set on stage in front of an audience, meaning each scene of each level is constantly being built around Dashforth and Scampwick as they act out their greatest battles. I really liked

Sony Announces Every PS4 Game For 2015

One of the most frequent complaints that has been lobbed against the PlayStation 4 in the past year or so has been the lack of games, especially exclusives. Last fall in particular it was a visible problem as the rival Xbox One had several well-regarded exclusives hit such as "Sunset Overdrive," "Halo: The Master Chief Collection" and "Forza Horizon 2" on top of the cross-platform Aaa titles that both consoles share.

In early 2015 though the tables have turned to some degree with the imminent release of Ps exclusive titles like "The Order 1886" and "Bloodborne". With Sony now seemingly fighting back, they've done something unexpected - publishing a complete list of all their upcoming 2015 game releases.

Many still don't have specific dates yet, dates which aren't expected to be announced until around the time of the big conventions closer to mid-year, but here's the list as it stands now.
