A man escapes from a Louisiana prison to be at the California hospital bedside of his ailing son.
This movie was filmed close to my home town, so I was eager to see friends and acquaintances who made it to the big screen.
I saw the film in College Station Texas while attending fire school. Then caught it again on TV a few years later.
It's a great movie with timeless themes. I can't understand why it hasn't been released on DVD or at least video.
George Peppard was one of my favorite actors and he must have been a good sport to shoot the film in his wife's (at the time) home town.
One of my favorite scenes is when the lead goes into a Los Angles Bar and the interior is Springhill's own "Friendly Bar." A place that most kids from my hometown went to have their first beer.
I hope they release this to the home market some day.
