User Reviews

good topic re: therapy and trust issues...
16 November 2011 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

A made for TV movie directed by Paul Wendkos, this film addresses some of the taboos, fallacies and urban legends of psychotherapy.

Unfortunately, it is not accurate in that the patient as victim is put under hypnosis, then gradually manipulated into undressing. It was based on a true story.

In reality these true crime stories are few and far between. Most esteemed psychoanalysts would never react this way, they have to follow a Canon of Ethics.

Performance-wise, Rip Torn is good here as lecherous doctor. Lesley-Ann Warren as vulnerable patient. Worth watching for fiction, not fact. 7/10.
