German TV re-ran this dated stuff around last Christmas. Hoo-boy - what a mess! Unbearable plots, "unter" (that's the opposite of "über") dialogs, terrible sets, crappiest blue screen "effects" - the only reason it was a relative hit when it was first aired in the late 1970s is that many of the cast members were popular in Germany at the time.
And, yes: Some of them did what they could to somehow get this thing flying. But even the finest actors can't make up for a lousy story.
If you watch it today, the only thing you feel is embarrassment and the urge to get 45 minutes of your live back.
So - don't waste your time with this stuff that should have stayed in the poison cabinet of German television...
PS: A rating of 7.8? Pulize! Did the entire cast (at least those of them who are still alive) vote for this crap?
