New Poster For Victor Frankenstein

19 August 2015 2:01 PM, PDT | www.themoviebit.com | See recent TheMovieBit news »

The first trailer for the latest, decidedly modern take on Mary Shelley’s classic horror tale, Victor Frankenstein, came our way yesterday, and now we have the new international poster, putting stars James Mcavoy and Daniel Radcliffe front and centre. While some classic imagery is there, this new vision of the Frankenstein tale focuses more on the relationship between Dr. Frankenstein (McAvoy) and Igor (Radcliffe), and I can’t think of two better actors to bring this new story to life. Released: 25th November (U.S.)/5th December (Irl/U.K.) »

‘Victor Frankenstein’ Trailer: James McAvoy & Daniel Radcliffe Tackle Mary Shelley’s Monster

18 August 2015 10:07 AM, PDT | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

It’s alive! The first trailer for 20th Century Fox’s “Victor Frankenstein” has hit the web, and judging by the footage, the latest take on Mary Shelley’s enduring monster tale seems to share more creative DNA with Guy Ritchie’s “Sherlock Holmes” movies than with the classic “Frankenstein” films starring Boris Karloff.

James McAvoy plays the titular scientist, with Daniel Radcliffe co-starring as his faithful assistant, Igor, as the two romp through Victorian England stealing body parts and trading banter as they try to unlock the secret to immortality. The film is told from Igor’s perspective as he befriends the visionary doctor and witnesses his evolution into the iconic and unwitting creator of a monster.

The film also stars “Sherlock’s” Andrew Scott and Mark Gatiss, “Downton Abbey” alum Jessica Brown Findlay, and Freddie Fox. “Victor Frankenstein” is directed by Paul McGuigan from a script by Max Landis, »

Daniel Radcliffe and James McAvoy Are a New Kind of Igor and Doctor Frankenstein

18 August 2015 9:16 AM, PDT | POPSUGAR | See recent BuzzSugar news »

It's been a while since anyone woke Mary Shelley's monster on the big screen, but Daniel Radcliffe and James McAvoy are up for their turn in Victor Frankenstein. They've got the long hair of the Victorian era and the charm that's entirely their own to do so. As Igor, the devoted assistant of Dr. Frankenstein (McAvoy), Radcliffe is not necessarily with the good doctor every step of the way, once things start to get more . . . alive. Yes, true to the tale, Igor and Frankenstein do make a monster, and though the trailer starts to get pretty terrifying, you're already taken with the natural charisma of these two actors. Victor Frankenstein comes out Nov. 25. »

Victor Frankenstein Trailer

18 August 2015 8:42 AM, PDT | www.themoviebit.com | See recent TheMovieBit news »

Coming from director Paul McGuigan (Push, Sherlock) and screenwriter Max Landis (Chronicle, the upcoming American Ultra), Victor Frankenstein puts a spin on Mary Shelley’s classic horror tale, focusing on the friendship between the titular monster creating scientist (James McAvoy) and his faithful assistant  Igor (Daniel Radcliffe), and the toll Victor’s obsession with creating life takes on it. There’s a decidedly modern edge to this new adaption, and I find it quite refreshing that the movie seems to be more about Victor and Igor than the monster. This is a story we have seen time and again, so offering a new spin on familiar elements is incredibly welcome. As is the central pairing, who seem to be having an absolute blast here. Especially with McAvoy relishing every moment as the ultimate mad scientist. Released: 25th November (U.S.)/5th December (Irl/U.K.) »

Victor Frankenstein Trailer Turns Horror Classic Into Buddy Comedy

18 August 2015 8:12 AM, PDT | Obsessed with Film | See recent Obsessed with Film news »

20th Century Fox

A surprisingly playful first trailer for Paul McGuigan’s Victor Frankenstein just dropped, and it’s a bit of a doozy. Based loosely on Mary Shelley’s classic novel and written by Max Landis (Chronicle) the film features James McAvoy as the titular Doc, with Daniel Radcliffe filling the boots of his assistant Igor. Check it out below.

That was fun, wasn’t it?

The film looks much lighter and cheesier than I was expecting, but in a totally intentional way. Compared to the po-faced but moronic I, Frankenstein (sorry to bring that up guys), Victor Frankenstein seems totally aware of the concept’s underlying silliness. The trailer indicates Landis may have jettisoned the more horrific elements of Shelley’s novel and replaced them with a bouncy dynamic between the likeable McAvoy and Radcliffe. Already the chemistry seems to be in place, conjuring up favourable comparisons to »

James McAvoy And Daniel Radcliffe Breathe New Life Into A Legend In First Victor Frankenstein Trailer

18 August 2015 8:09 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Sporting the chrome dome look for Bryan Singer’s ongoing X-Men: Apocalypse, James McAvoy today introduced the first official trailer for Victor Frankenstein along with co-star and supernatural partner-in-crime, Daniel Radcliffe.

Adopting a novel twist on Mary Shelley’s classic tale of life and death – and the blurry line between them both – Fox’s new spin on an old legend is to be directed by Paul McGuigan with a script from Chronicle‘s Max Landis. Setting aside a significant chunk of the established lore, Victor Frankenstein will primarily focus on the relationship between McAvoy and Radcliffe’s co-leads as they strive to resuscitate dead animals and creatures and bring them back from the brink. For the flick, McAvoy will play the titular, slightly unhinged visionary, while Radcliffe is on board to portray a revised version of the protégé Igor Strausman, who has been straightened out by our protagonist in every sense of the word. »

Daniel Radcliffe and James McAvoy do the monster mash in Victor Frankenstein trailer

18 August 2015 7:43 AM, PDT | The Guardian - Film News | See recent The Guardian - Film News news »

A new take on Mary Shelley’s gothic classic sees the Harry Potter star as Igor, the infamous assistant to Doctor Frankenstein

After last year’s I, Frankenstein opened to abysmal reviews (The Guardian’s Mike McCahill called it a “barely functioning multiplex-filler”), it seems as if we’re ready for a new reimagining of Mary Shelley’s novel.

Victor Frankenstein stars Daniel Radcliffe as Igor, the assistant to the titular character, a scientist researching immortality. But when Victor goes too far, it’s up to Igor to pull him back from the brink of madness.

Daniel Radcliffe and James McAvoy make a monster in first trailer for Victor Frankenstein

18 August 2015 7:39 AM, PDT | Cineplex | See recent Cineplex news »

We’ve seen lots of remakes of Mary Shelley’s classic tale of Dr. Frankenstein over the years, but none quite like Paul McGuigan’s Victor Frankenstein. We got our first look at Comic-Con, and now we have a first trailer.

Starring James McAvoy as the titular doctor, Victor Frankenstein will tell a slightly more gruesome and action-packed version of the story. Daniel Radcliffe plays the doctor’s trusty assistant Igor who has more than a few concerns with re-animating a corpse.

It turns out the monster didn’t exactly want to be brought back from the dead, and it’s understandably pretty angry. Victor and Igor also have suspicious police to contend with, as body parts have been mysteriously going missing throughout town.

Jessica Brown Findlay and Andrew Scott also star in what looks like a pretty crazy take on one of the most well known monster stories of all time. »

'Victor Frankenstein' Trailer: James McAvoy, Daniel Radcliffe Tell Mad Scientist's Side of Story

18 August 2015 7:34 AM, PDT | The Hollywood Reporter | See recent The Hollywood Reporter news »

"We shall create life out of death." The first trailer for Fox's Victor Frankenstein shows a different side to Mary Shelley's famous scientist gone wrong. No longer is he just a madman obsessed with creating the modern Prometheus — now, he's also a surprisingly charming egomaniac and, just maybe, a potential hero. James McAvoy plays Frankenstein, while Daniel Radcliffe transforms the role of Igor from tragic minion to sarcastic sidekick — and, as can be seen in the trailer, unfortunate punching bag for early attempts to create life. ("Being electrocuted, chased by monsters, and hunted by the police?" Igor

It's alive! Daniel Radcliffe and James McAvoy star in new Victor Frankenstein trailer

18 August 2015 7:11 AM, PDT | Digital Spy | See recent Digital Spy - Movie News news »

This isn't your grandad's Frankenstein, this is Victor Frankenstein, with James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe making a monster come to life to the sound of The Doors in the new trailer for the rebooted horror classic.

McAvoy takes a break from playing the younger Professor X in the ongoing X-Men series, joining forces with fellow franchise veteran Radcliffe to play Victor and Igor respectively.

As you'll have seen from the trailer above, this is a glossy, slick take on Mary Shelley's immortal tale, though of course they can't resist a good "It's Alive!". Fingers crossed for a decent "Yes, master..." from the former Boy Who Lived once the film hits cinemas later this year.

Plus, there's more gigantic lever pulling than you've seen in the past decade. That's how science happens, kids.

Victor Frankenstein Trailer: Daniel Radcliffe And James McAvoy Look Incredible

After making a splash at San Diego Comic-Con earlier this year, 20th Century Fox released the first Victor Frankenstein trailer. X-Men: Apocalypse.s James McAvoy and a post-Harry Potter Daniel Radcliffe star as the monster-making mavens Dr. Frankenstein and Igor in "a new twist on the legend." Watch the footage below.  Hopefully by now we all know the story of Mary Shelley.s Frankenstein . a scientist experimenting with the reanimation of corpses brings to life a man, though a monstrous man at that. There have been many spins on the tale since then, including one starring Aaron Eckhart that should stay in the shadows where it belongs, and the Victor Frankenstein trailer shows yet another, more explosive twist.  Instead of being a lonely little hunchback, as he.s commonly portrayed, Radcliffe.s Igor is Victor Frankenstein.s contemporary, and the two form a very Sherlock Holmes-y relationship.
