Sex & Nudity

  • Penny is suspended by her underwear in a couple of shots.
  • Madame Medusa is wearing a short dress and her cleavage is shown.
  • Penny shows the mice her slightly torn underwear. No nudity though
  • In the scene where the mice are flying on the bird, there was a speculation a picture of topless woman was shown in a window for the slightest second, and for this reason, millions of copies were recalled by Disney and the image is now removed.
  • In infamous early copies of the 1999 VHS release, there is a shot of a topless woman in the background, when Bernard and Bianca fly out of New York. This led to a "recall."
  • When Penny gets dressed in her pajamas, her topless backside is shown.

Violence & Gore

  • Medusa is shown to be physically, verbally, and psychologically abusive towards her partner, Penny, and her pet alligators
  • Some reckless driving and gun shooting by Medusa. She narrowly misses shooting people. She points her gun at Snoops and Penny towards the end and threatens to blast them. Definitely not a responsible gun owner
  • Medusa nearly crashes into a parked pickup truck while speeding through the downtown streets, but switches lanes to avoid a collision.
  • Medusa nearly crushes Bianca who's under the gas pedal, but the latter manages to escape.
  • Upon first spotting the two mice, Medusa freaks and blasts violently at them with a shotgun (the two mice narrowly manage to escape).
  • In the climax, Medusa uses her shotgun attempt to try and shoot Penny. After she misses, she tries firing again, but the bayou critters load a stick of dynamite in her shotgun, literally causing the plan to blow up in her face (she is otherwise unharmed, though).
  • A swamp critter stabs Medusa in the butt with a pitchfork in one scene, causing her to scream (played for laughs).

Profanity

  • "Shut up" is said occasionally. There's also some minor name calling like bungler and knucklehead.
  • "Sacre Bleu" - which is French for "Damnit" - is used once.
  • Medusa shouts out the term "road hog" when passing by a parked truck as she's speeding through downtown.
  • RIght before his landing at the airfield, Orville is strongly implied to be swearing - including possibly the f-word - over the control tower's radio. Bernard's visible reaction all the more supports this implication.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Luke, a muskrat from the Devil's Bayou, has a jug of a home-made alcoholic substances, which he periodically drinks. He gives some to 2 involuntary recipients as a revitalizer.
  • A Rescue Aid Society delegate appears to be smoking a pipe briefly during the opening R.A.S. meeting.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Penny is emotional in a few scenes
  • As Bernard and Bianca sneak onto Medusa's riverboat, they are discovered and pursued by Brutus and Nero. With all the racket they cause, Medusa herself comes downstairs and freaks at the sight of the two mice, vigorously shooting at them with a shotgun (played for laughs), with the two mice narrowly escaping.
  • The next morning, Medusa forces Penny into the cave to retrieve the diamond. Soon the cave begins to flood, and Penny and the mice nearly drown trying to obtain the diamond (they narrowly get away).

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • After everyone escapes in the climax, Medusa is hanging on the top of a smokestack of the sinking riverboat while her alligators snap at her, implying that they intended to eat her once she comes off, but it is not revealed what happened.
