Comments made by Arnold Schwarzenegger during interviews for two recently released DVDs, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines and Pumping Iron: the 25th Anniversary Edition, could "offer grist for Schwarzenegger's critics," the Los Angeles Times observed today (Friday). For example, it observed, the Pumping Iron DVD contains this comment from the governor-elect on a scene in the movie in which he is seen smoking a joint: "I really smoked it, and I also inhaled, unlike some people claim." He also remarks that he used steroids (but at a time when they were legal). The remarks are certain to raise questions about the manner in which his administration intends to enforce the state's drug laws. »

Movie muscleman Arnold Schwarzenegger has denied he once admired infamous German dictator Adolf Hitler. The Terminator star - who is running to become the Governor of California - insists he never made the alleged comments during a 1975 interview for an unpublished book. Arnie says, "I don't remember any of those comments because I always despised everything that Hitler stood for." But American television network ABC says it has a copy of the book which quotes an interview the actor gave while filming Pumping Iron. Arnie is alleged to have said, "I admired Hitler, for instance, because he came from being a little man with almost no formal education, up to power. I admire him for being such a good public speaker and for what he did with it." But author George Butler concedes that Arnie's comments need to be placed in context, as the star didn't make any specifically anti-Semitic comments. »

Arnold Schwarzenegger's wild past is set to catch up with him after a revealing magazine interview from his younger days was unearthed. The Predator star, a candidate for Governor of California, was apparently interviewed by soft-porn magazine Oui in 1977, and spoke about orgies with body building groupies, smoking drugs and hanging out with prostitutes. Arnie has brushed off the story, saying, "I haven't lived my life to be a politician." But the news will shock many fans and Republican supporters who endorsed Schwarzenegger's candidacy for governor. The movie star was quoted as saying he and several body building buddies indulged in group sex. The magazine also reported how he had sex with fans on a whim - even before bodybuilding competitions. He said, "If a girl comes on strong and says 'I really dig your body' I just decide whether or not I like her. If I do take her home, I try to make sure I get just as much out of it as she does." The sex shocker comes on top of Arnie's cannabis confession - last year the star admitted to puffing on a joint, and the same revelations were make in the magazine's interview. The story has been dug up by American dish-the-dirt website The Smoking Gun. The star, then 29 years old, was appearing in the cult documentary Pumping Iron when he gave the interview. »

Pictures of movie muscleman Arnold Schwarzenegger puffing on a cannabis cigarette are circulating on the Internet in an attempt to derail his campaign to be Governor of California. The stills are taken from Arnie's 1977 documentary flick Pumping Iron but are unlikely to harm him as he has already admitted to smoking - and inhaling - the drug. Speaking last year Arnie said, "I did smoke a joint and I did inhale. The bottom line is that's what it was in the '70s, that's what I did. I have never touched it since." Also circulating are revealing pictures of a bare bodybuilding Arnie with a towel doing little to cover his modesty, while a naked woman sits on his shoulders. And that's not all that's come out of the woodwork - old footage of the Terminator star promoting beer and a nicotine and caffeine packed drink are also being made freely available. »

Actor-turned-wannabe politician Arnold Schwarzenegger is desperately trying to sever links between him and animal rights campaigners People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals (PETA) - in a row over milk. According to American gossip site The Scoop, the Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines star, who announced his plans to run for Governor of California last week, is attempting to remove a quote he made in documentary Pumping Iron, claiming "milk is for babies" from Peta's MilkSucks.com website. According to the site, Schwarzenegger's representatives claim the line was uttered in a movie, so it should not be attributed to him - but PETA insist the film was a bodybuilding documentary and the only "character" Schwarzenegger was playing was himself A source close to the group says, "That quote has been up for a long time and we suspect that they're just trying to get it removed now because he doesn't want to upset the dairy industry. It's utterly ridiculous, so to speak." »

Hollywood hardman Arnold Schwarzenegger is to make his computer screen debut in a video game based on Terminator 3: The Rise Of The Machines. The Austrian superstar has never sanctioned the use of his image in a computer game before this - although he's the first to admit that other have used his characters without his permission. He says, "I've seen in the past other images of me and some were bogus, I would say. This is the first time the movements, the facial expressions don't look like I can't recognize myself." The game is being made by computer giant Atari and will be in shops this autumn. And already plans are afoot to make a second game based around his weightlifting documentary Pumping Iron. Arnie says, "That is actually a great idea. Two companies came to me with that idea to make it interactive, to have pose-offs... It can be something very educational but at the same time inspirational for kids to work out rather than become a couch potato." »
