Trivia

The bathroom set for this film was built with false walls within the billiard room of the Doheny mansion in Los Angeles. (That same billiard room, and the adjoining 2-lane bowling alley, were also used in the film There Will Be Blood for a very bloody murder scene.) The dorm room set for Getting It Over With was constructed within another, larger room in the Doheny mansion as well, as the mansion was then used by the American Film Institute. See more »

A Very Enjoyable Short
15 May 2004 | by (Tupelo, MS) – See all my reviews

I happened to catch this short at the first annual Tupelo Film

Festival in 2004. I'm not sure why it was there or whose I idea it was to show it, but after viewing it I was very pleased to catch it. I could tell the film must've been shot in the late 70's and the sound wasn't great in places but the short film was very enjoyable. The film stock looked aged, but it didn't hinder the flow of the story. It had some good acting and some very funny sequences. Heckerling had apparently directed this during her time at the American Film Institute. A very good first film and one of the more enjoyable short films I've seen.
