Before the Band family stuck themselves in a rut of making Puppet Master style cheapies they produced drek like Laserblast and End of the World. Christopher Lee stated that he was conned into making End of the World after the producers lied to him about the casting. Christopher Lee spends a lot of time apologising to people and making excuses for the awful pictures he's agreed to make. Doesn't he read the scripts?! The Bands' formula here is simple; nab a star, provide a strong opening scene and a money shot at the end and that is essentially all there is to End of the World. An alien conspiracy is underway to destroy earth depicted via stock footage of explosions, volcanoes, etc. A scientist discovers mysterious signals which send him racing to thwart the plot if he can. Mostly, it's dull.
