• Continuity: At the Astrodome, the seats flanking the display board in the backfield change back and forth from being completely full to almost empty.
  
  
• Crew or equipment visible: Shadows of the camera and crew visible when Kelly Leak is walking off the field after having an argument with his father.
  
  
• Continuity: A Toros player hits an obvious ground ball (considering the angle, the ball hits the ground just out of the camera's shot), but in the following shot, Tanner, playing shortstop, catches it as if it were a hard line drive.
  
  

• Continuity: Batting order of the Bears during the game against the Toros.
  
  
• Factual errors: In the famous "hidden ball trick" scene against the Toros, the Bears pitcher is on the mound during the trick. This would make the play impossible because being on the mound "rubber" without the ball is considered a balk at any level of baseball.
  
  
• Miscellaneous: During the hidden ball trick. Off camera you can clearly hear the director give instructions to the ball players.
  
  
• Factual errors: Bears and Toros players can be seen leading off during several scenes of the film. If we are to assume these are little league teams this would be illegal as there is no leading off allowed in little league. Runners are not permitted to leave bases until the pitched ball has crossed the plate.
  
  
• Errors in geography: As the bears are driving towards Houston from Los Angeles (Van Nuys), they are driving into a sunset, which sets in the west, not the east.
  
  
• Continuity: Opening scene of the movie when Engelberg rides up to the ballpark the sky turns from a overcast late day shot to a sunny early day shot.
  
  
• Continuity: After the Bears commit "the hidden ball trick," the Bears celebrate and the centerfield scoreboard says "Sometimes even your best friends won't tell you," and the leftfield scoreboard shows 4 1/2 innings, but it in an up close a few seconds later, it shows a "0" being put on the board.
  
  
• Revealing mistakes: The game was to be a sell out, or near sell-out. However, there appears to be a limited number of extras available. In several shots, the Astrodome is obviously empty except for the first few rows. Looking near the top of the screen, you can easily see the empty seats.
  
  
• Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): When Kelly first greets his dad at work, Mr. Leak has a lunch box and thermos that he set on the trailer. A few minutes later, when his girlfriend drives up, he jumps right into the car without his items. You can still see them when they pan to Kelly.
