10 Things You Didn’t Know about Rocky IV

14 October 2017 3:30 AM, PDT | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

You’d seen Rocky take on someone bigger than him before, but this was akin to a true David and Goliath story. Ivan Drago was almost twice Rocky’s size and could punch hard enough to send your heart bouncing against your backbone if he connected. Just watching Rocky take on the big Russian and, in some ways, the very government of the nation he’d wandered into, was inspiring in some ways until you took a look at the beating he was taking. Worse still is the fact that Sylvester Stallone was really taking some of those shots. Doing his own stunts

Sylvester Stallone on to Direct Creed 2

13 October 2017 6:31 AM, PDT | The Cultural Post | See recent The Cultural Post news »

After delivering an Oscar nominated performance in CreedRocky himself (Sylvester Stallone) will stand in the director’s corner for the follow-up. The announcement came via his Instagram account, as the film begins pre-production.

Creed came as a surprise to many. A film linked to a dying franchise, with a relatively obscure director and an actor coming off a box office bomb, many would be forgiven for thinking the film might not pack a punch (pun very much intended). But Creed defied expectations and pumped life into a franchise that no longer seemed relevant. It landed its director, Ryan Coogler, a Marvel movie and confirmed Michael B. Jordan’s star status.

Whilst many would have liked to see Coogler return to the director’s chair, the prospect of Stallone returning to direct the franchise he created is a tantalising one. This return to old ways also bleeds through to the »

Bollywood's Rambo Remake Gets Indefinitely Delayed, What Happened?

12 October 2017 9:30 AM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

While most non-Hindi speaking American audiences may be unfamiliar with Tiger Shroff, he is one of the biggest stars in the world, and also one of the highest paid. So when he announced that he'd be starring in a remake of Sylvester Stallone's Rambo, the entire planet sat up and took noticed. Sadly, the much anticipated foreign redo has hit the skids, and is dead in the water for the time being. With so much enthusiasm behind the project, and even Stallone giving it his blessing, what happened to the Rambo Bollywood Remake?

Well, Yrf has announced a new untitled action film coming from India that pairs Hrithik Roshan with Tiger Shroff, and it's causing tremendous buzz. Tiger is reportedly a huge fan of Hrithik, and jumped at the chance to work with him. Their movie will be filled with spectacular stunts and crazy dance scenes that will take »

Creed 2: Sylvester Stallone confirms he’s directing

Simon Brew Oct 11, 2017

Sylvester Stallone is taking over directing duties on Creed 2, that starts filming next year...

There’s significant progress in the land of Creed, with the news that the sequel is pressing ahead early next year, and it has a director in place.

That director is Sylvester Stallone, going behind the camera for the first time since 2010's The Expendables. He’s confirmed on his Instagram account that he’ll be helming the new film, rather than Ryan Coogler, who scored such a success with the first Creed. That said, Stallone has the small matter of four Rocky films he’s directed under his belt. He’s hardly a slouch, here.

Michael B Jordan will be back in the title role, with Dolph Lundgren appearing as Ivan Drago in the new movie. Creed 2 may well sneak into cinemas by the end of next year too, with production set »

'This Is Us' Unravels 5 Painful New Clues About Jack's Death

10 October 2017 7:00 PM, PDT | Entertainment Tonight | See recent Entertainment Tonight news »

Warning: Spoiler alert! Do not proceed if you have not watched Tuesday’s episode of This Is Us.

This Is Us welcomed Sylvester Stallone on Tuesday’s episode, titled “Highs and Lows,” and it was his fatherly advice to Kevin about dealing with Jack’s death that struck an emotional chord.

“There’s no such thing as a long time ago,” Stallone says on the set of their fictional wartime movie, after Kevin tells him his father died “a long time ago.” “There are only memories that mean something and memories that don’t.” Out of the Big Three, Kevin has had the most difficulty talking about and properly grieving over Jack’s death; Kate let out her frustrations, guilt and grief in pound class and in therapy, while Randall relived the loss through the death of his biological father, William.

During her on-set visit, Kate opens up to Stallone about the huge impact his movies »

‘This Is Us’: Every Sylvester Stallone Scene Ranked By Its Inspirational Power

10 October 2017 6:59 PM, PDT | Indiewire Television | See recent Indiewire Television news »

“People can be good” seems like an oddly basic concept to celebrate, but given current events, “This Is Us” delivered the message audiences needed most Tuesday night: People can be good, and sometimes those people are Sylvester Stallone.

In Episode 3, “Déjà Vu,” the most inspirational action star of all-time guest-starred on TV’s most inspirational series and, well, things got emotional. Stallone was invited to join the series by his “Rocky Balboa” co-star Milo Ventimiglia, who played Rocky Jr. in the 2006 film, so it was doubly fitting to learn that Jack was a die-hard Stallone fan in the series. Clever work, Dan Fogelman.

But how much of the good vibes came from Stallone’s presence and how much came from the writing? Did the presence of a three-time Oscar nominee distract from the series’ central storyline or enhance it? And most importantly, how did viewers feel after each one of Stallone’s scenes? »

Sylvester Stallone Reveals He is Directing 'Creed 2'

10 October 2017 4:00 PM, PDT | Movies.com | See recent Movies.com news »

Nobody expected Creed to be such a phenomenal success, but the Rocky franchise legacy sequel had a winning team. Writer-director Ryan Coogler and his regular leading man Michael B. Jordan plus an Oscar-worthy supporting turn by original star Sylvester Stallone added up to a series-best Rotten Tomatoes score of 95% plus its best box office success in 30 years and its first Academy Awards recognition since Rocky III in 1982. The same group won't be all together again for the next installment, as Coogler moved on to Black Panther (with Jordan co-starring there) and has apparently declined to return for Creed 2. Instead, as revealed on Instagram, Stallone is "looking forward to directing and producing" the sequel. "One more round!" he...

Sylvester Stallone Announces He Will Direct Michael B. Jordan in ‘Creed 2’

10 October 2017 9:12 AM, PDT | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

Last night Sylvester Stallone announced on Instagram that he will be directing “Creed 2.” “Looking forward to directing and Producing The incredibly talented Michael B Jordan in Creed 2 next year … One more Round!,” wrote Stallone.

Stallone has previously said he had completed writing the first draft of the script for “Creed 2” and hinted he is bringing back Dolph Lundgren’s Ivan Drago character (and presumedly his offspring) from “Rocky 4.” Last month Stallone also announced production would begin in 2018, although distributor MGM told Variety the project was still in development.

In addition to writing and starring in the original “Rocky,” Stallone had directed four of the previous sequels, including “Rocky Balboa” — made 30 years after the original, when Stallone was 60 years old — which was assumed to bring closure to the successful franchise.

Rocky Creator Sylvester Stallone Will Direct Creed 2

10 October 2017 9:11 AM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

The pieces of the puzzle for Creed 2 are really starting to fall into place now. Sylvester Stallone recently finished writing the script for the movie and it looks like the sequel is going to start shooting February 2018. Now, we know who's going to be directing the next movie in the Rocky franchise and, in a somewhat surprising yet not surprising at all announcement, Sylvester Stallone has announced that he is going to direct the movie himself.

Many had assumed that, given the success of Creed, director Ryan Coogler would return. However, he's been busy filming Black Panther for Marvel and it looks like he's not going to be able to make it back for Creed 2 in time. So Sylvester Stallone, the man who built the Rocky franchise with his blood, sweat and tears, is going to step behind the camera once again and direct this thing. That means that Stallone is going to write, »

Creed 2 Finds A New Director

10 October 2017 9:02 AM, PDT | Cinelinx | See recent Cinelinx news »

First off Mark Rylance is a bum, and Sylvester Stallone deserved the Oscar for Creed. Perhaps he can win one for Creed 2! For a Supporting role, or Directing.

The Argument can be made that Ryan Coogler brought us one of, if not the, best Rocky movie to date in 2015. Creed was heartfelt and full of Rocky spirit. For 2 years now we have been waiting on news of the sequel. However due to Michael B. Jordan teaming along with Coogler for Marvel’s Black Panther, little has been known about a sequel, until now.

Rumors began swirling early on about the plot of a proposed sequel involving Adonis Creed coming face to face with the man who killed his father, Ivan Drago, originally played by Dolph Lungren. Now, Sylvester Stallone has announced via his Instagram that Creed 2 is officially on the way, with himself at the helm to bring Michael B. »

Sylvester Stallone to Direct ‘Creed 2’

10 October 2017 7:57 AM, PDT | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

Ryan Coogler directed the best Rocky movie since Rocky with Creed, but unfortunately, he’s not returning to helm Creed 2. Pre-production on the sequel has slowly been moving forward with the plot involving Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan) and the man who killed his father, Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren). Plot details on all of his are still fuzzy, but we now know who will be helming the film: Sylvester Stallone. Stallone’s got an interesting filmography. He’s directed genuinely good movies like Rocky Balboa, Rocky III, and even the delightfully bonkers Rambo. But he’s also helmed … »

Sylvester Stallone Steps In The Ring To Direct ‘Creed 2’

When “Creed” arrived two years ago, it proved that the “Rocky” franchise had plenty of life left in it, particularly if you put Sylvester Stallone to the side. Ryan Coogler wrote the script and directed the film which brought a fresh energy to the boxing series, and charisma with Michael B. Jordan leading the way. A big hit commercially and critically, a sequel has long been in the works, but as more time has passed, Stallone has made it clear he wanted to be back in the saddle.
