Newswire: Ivan Drago will totally be in Creed II

6 hours ago | avclub.com | See recent The AV Club news »

Lately, Sylvester Stallone’s been following in the footsteps of the action stars who followed in his, filling his social media with hints at his new projects, a la Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel. In early July, the Rocky franchise director shared some images of his big match with Dolph Lundgren as Ivan Drago in Rocky IV. The stills were followed by a respectable Photoshop job that replaced Rocky Balboa with Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan), suggesting the Soviet science project would find his way into these sequel series. Stallone’s latest Instagram tease is a bit more direct, featuring images of the handwritten script for Creed II (or Creed 2, we’re not sure how that’s going to shake out) with a “Drago” hashtag.

Since a hashtag with your (character’s) name is basically a contract, we can safely assume Lundgren’s started eating his daily spinach in »

Sylvester Stallone Once Again Hints That Ivan Drago — or His Son — Will Appear in ‘Creed 2’

23 July 2017 11:04 AM, PDT | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

Sylvester Stallone’s Instagram has become to go-to spot for updates on “Creed II.” After teasing that Ivan Drago will return in the sequel to Ryan Coogler’s “Rocky” spinoff and that the “sins of the father” will be a factor as well, Sly more or less confirmed that a Drago will appear — though it may not be the original.

“Just Done …. if you are curious , around 439 handwritten pages translates into about a 120 page typed screenplay…#writers cramp #rockybalboa #drago #adoniscreed #MGM,” he wrote alongside a picture of the notebook that apparently contains the handwritten screenplay for “Creed II.” That second hashtag is of the most interest to viewers ready to see Dolph Lundgren reprise his role as the fierce Russian boxer who kills Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers) in the ring.

Creed 2: Ivan Drago Confirmed For Sequel

22 July 2017 3:35 PM, PDT | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

Not too long ago, good ol’ Sylvester Stallone took to social media to post a cryptic photo of Ivan Drago from Rocky IV. In the picture, he looked to be standing toe to toe with the young Adonis Creed. It came with the message “sins of the father,” which would seem to imply that Drago would be returning, and that Creed may be taking on the former foe’s son.

Today, Stallone took to Instagram once again to share the progress of the script. In the photo, we see, Stallone’s handwritten script (which is woefully illegible), and in a caption, he confirms Drago’s involvement in the story.

Check it out below:

Sylvester Stallone completes Creed 2 script, confirms Drago’s return

22 July 2017 8:55 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Rocky actor Sylvester Stallone has revealed through an Instagram post that he has completed a draft of his script for Creed 2, the sequel to 2015’s Rocky spin-off Creed, which followed Michael B. Jordan as Apollo Creed’s son Adonis. He also revealed, through the handwritten notes he showed off, that we’ll be seeing the return of Rocky IV’s Ivan Drago, the man who killed Apollo Creed in the ring.

We can presumably expect Dolph Lundgren to reprise the role of Drago, something Stallone and director Ryan Coogler have previously hinted at, as well as seeing Creed go up against one of Drago’s own children in the ring. Either way, it will be a very awkward and bitter meeting between the two fighters. Stallone said that his rough, handwritten script is 439 pages and will translate to around “a 120 page typed screenplay”.

‘Kingdom’: Talia Shire on Why She Returned to the World of Professional Fighters — and Acting

19 July 2017 6:45 AM, PDT | Indiewire Television | See recent Indiewire Television news »

If you’re going to make a movie about fighters, you can’t skimp on the details. So says Talia Shire, an actress who knows a thing or two about the genre.

“You notice everything,” Shire said during an interview with IndieWire. “I am terribly aware of [everything]. If you’re going to do a fighting movie, I’m looking at the scars.”

Shire noticed just that when she first came across “Kingdom.” Now, the actress who earned Oscar nominations for her two iconic turns in “Rocky” and “The Godfather: Part II,” has joined the cast of the Audience Network original series — with just three episodes remaining.

Rambo Reboot: Sylvester Stallone Won’t Be A Part Of First Blood, Eyeing 2018 Start For Creed 2

17 July 2017 2:33 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Similar to how Harrison Ford has circled back to portray a number of famous roles from yesteryear (see: Blade Runner 2049, Indiana Jones 5), Hollywood veteran Sylvester Stallone is no stranger to indulging in a little nostalgia from time to time, too – even if that nostalgia takes on the form of a tongue-in-cheek ensemble movie in the vein of The Expendables.

Case in point: Creed, Ryan Coogler’s Rocky spinoff movie that took that fundamental underdog story, slapped on a new lick of paint, and delivered a powerful, moving boxing film revolving around one Adonis Johnson (Michael B. Jordan).

Balancing the old with the new, Coogler’s hard-hitting drama still made room for Stallone’s Rocky Balboa, who assumed the role of a mentor/father figure to coach the young, unrefined Adonis into a bona fide world beater. That arc will continue through the release of Creed 2, which is expected »

Made on a budget of just over $1 million and shot in less than a month, Rocky is one of Hollywood’s biggest success stories — becoming the highest-grossing film of 1976, spawning a series of sequels and spinoffs, and going on to win three Oscars including Best Picture.

Though Sylvester Stallone‘s masterpiece has been viewed for years, there’s still something even the biggest Rocky fan hasn’t seen.

On Friday, the 71-year-old actor shared a rare photo from the film from one of its deleted scenes.

Cast your all-seeing eye on the upcoming metal musick movie American Satan.

The Illuminati, where would pop music be without it? Ever since legendary blues sacrifice Robert Johnson sold his soul to the devil for better chops on those Crossroads, rock and roll has had a hellhound on its tale. The Beatles may have been taller than pretty much anything, or they may have been invented at the Tavistock Institute for wayward lyricists, but Jay Z, Madonna, Rihanna and former Christian singer Katy Perry tease the same in-jokes to this day. The new American Satan trailer is here to set the record straight, and the humble narrator of A Clockwork Orange is hungry for new talent.

Jordan) appears next to Ivan Drago of “Rocky IV” with an intriguing caption.

Creed 2 To Bring Back Ivan Drago?

4 July 2017 8:45 AM, PDT | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

A couple years back, we saw the return of Rocky Balboa and the spirit of the boxing underdog with the film Creed. While a start to its own series, it also served as a seventh film in the ongoing Rocky saga, with Sylvester Stallone’s iconic Italian Stallion serving as a supporting character to Adonis Creed, the son of Rocky’s old friend, Apollo Creed. The film was a resounding success on all fronts, both as a boxing movie and an emotional rollercoaster, but fans were left wondering what we would be getting from an inevitable sequel.

Time has passed, and while audiences haven’t forgotten about the need for a sequel just yet, it’s been a hot minute since Creed has been a part of a conversation. Well, Sly Stallone took to Instagram to remedy the situation. In the instagram post, we see a photoshopped picture of Adonis »

Sylvester Stallone hints at Creed 2 plot

When Creed dropped back in 2015 it could have gone oh-so-badly for the Rocky spin-off. But with a return to the roots of what made the southpaw from Philadelphia great a thirst for more screen time for the son of Apollo Creed couldn’t have been more prominent.

Sylvester Stallone Teases ‘Creed’ Sequel That Connects To ‘Rocky IV’

3 July 2017 2:31 PM, PDT | The Playlist | See recent The Playlist news »

It didn’t take long after the release of “Creed” for sequel talk to start stirring. The “Rocky” spinoff directed by Ryan Coogler and starring Michael B. Jordan was a huge crowd-pleaser and box office hit, while still maintaining a connection to the mainline series thanks to Sylvester Stallone taking on a mentor role to the young Adonis Creed. Among the ideas batted around for a follow-up was a prequel reuniting Rocky Balboa and Carl Weathers‘ Apollo Creed (who died in “Rocky IV“), but that was squashed by producer Irwin Winkler, who confirmed that any sequel would focus on Adonis.
