Peter Cushing filmed his small role in 4 days (May 12-15 1976) after completing his scenes for "Star Wars." It was his first US TV movie, broadcast on October 8 1976. Others that followed were "A Tale of Two Cities" in 1980, and "Helen Keller: The Miracle Continues" in 1983.

Peter Cushing (Sir Arthur Conan Doyle) had previously played the author's most famous creation Sherlock Holmes in The Hound of the Baskervilles (1959) and Sherlock Holmes (1964) and would later do so again in Sherlock Holmes and the Masks of Death (1984).
