During the firearms heist (known as Hamilton Firearms in the film) in a warehouse dock, the firearms heisted are real-life infantry weapons in service with the United States armed forces. The firearms include M16A1 assault rifles, Armalite AR18 assault rifles (the AR18 was not adopted as a standard service assault rifle - it was later adopted by the Provisional IRA in Northern Ireland - the villain Tex is seen firing an AR18 during the Alcatraz shootout), and the M72 anti-tank missile, known as the Light Anti-Tank Weapon; in the film, the M72 was called the LAW Rocket. Both the M16A1 and the M72 were used in the Vietnam War. See more »
Early in the film the girl lures the two gas company workers to her home, where the bad guy kills the two men and keeps their truck for use in their heist. Later on, when investigating the heist, the cops finally figure out that the ruse must have been via a gas company truck and uniforms. There is no mention of why the gas company had not reported the disappearance of their two men nor their truck, even though the men's bodies were discovered "last week". See more »

Kindler, gentler Dirty Harry film which puts our bureaucracy-hating, crime-busting hero with a female partner played by Tyne Daly, who would later achieve fame on "Cagney & Lacey" and is currently seen on "Judging Amy." Thin plot, some classic Eastwood quotes, but the villains can't match Andy Robinson from "Dirty Harry" or David Soul from "Magnum Force." This might be the weakest Harry of the bunch.
