Sam McCloud is a Marshal from a Taos, New Mexico, who takes a temporary assignment in the New York City Police. His keen sense of detail and detecting subtle clues, learned from his experience, enable him to nab unsuspecting criminals despite his unbelieving boss.
Quincy and Sam are working as Coroners. Inspecting dead people they often see facts that don't match the theories of the police how or if really they were murdered. Written by

The regulations of the day prevented the producers from showing Quincy's autopsies on screen. (These regulations have now been lifted and the corpses can be seen on screen in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2000), CSI: Miami (2002) and CSI: NY (2004).)
