Very briefly--a group of Marine aviators' wives practice serial adultery. Their husbands' unit chaplain, Jensen, is firmly opposed to this aspect of the service lifestyle and repeatedly counsels them to stop. The wives realize that Jensen knows enough about their activities to cause problems for them and for their husbands' careers. They hatch a scheme to neutralize the threat by destroying Jensen personally and professionally, through concocting multiple charges of adultery against him. Jensen is given a chance to accept administrative discipline, but refuses and demands a court-martial. At great personal expense to himself, he is able to find and introduce evidence that impeaches the wives' testimony, and is aquitted.
