The original Broadway production of "Old Times" by Harold Pinter opened at the Billy Rose Theater in New York on November 16, 1971, ran for 120 performances and was nominated for the 1972 Tony Award for the Best Play. The author wrote both the play script and the teleplay that this filmed production was based on.

This film, however enjoyable, is quite hard to decipher. Between dirtying faces and powdering people, the underlying current of the film is very elusive-unless you can understand the jargon. there are quality performances from the actors all around.
