Trivia

Though not first released until early 1975, the picture was filmed in 1974, which was the thirtieth anniversary year of the death of mob boss Louis 'Lepke' Buchalter, who had been executed by the electric chair thirty years earlier in 1944. See more »

Goofs

As he eats his last meal (while receiving a visit from Robert Kane), Lepke drinks from a water glass. No prison would have permitted such a breach of security, particularly for a condemned man in his final hours, because of the potential use of broken glass as a weapon of suicide or homicide. Poor Tony Curtis
31 July 2005 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Sorry, I can not agree with fans who think this film is any good. It was a cheap rip-off of the gangster movies being made in the 1970s. Tony Curtis tries his best, but he just doesn't come across as a cold-blood killer. He looks bloated and this movie was just another in a series of lousy bombs he made from 1970 and on.

The movie was very cheaply made. The shootouts were very fake, most of the acting was cheesy and way over the top. Curtis is red-faced half the movie and generally seems embarrassed by the whole thing. The only 2 good-points of this failure was the great movie poster and the beautiful and sexy Mary Wilcox. If you're a fan of Tony Curtis, do yourself and him a favor and skip this stinker and rent Sweet Smell of Success or Some Like it Hot.
