The character of January Wayne (Deborah Raffin in this filmed Jacqueline Susann adaptation is recovering from a near fatal motorcycle accident. The daughter (Debra Raffin) of a powerful film mogul is slowly corrupted by her father's (David Jansen) worldly associates. Based on Jacqueline Susann's glittery best seller. Academy Award Nominations: Best Supporting Actress--Brenda Vaccaro. This excellent movie from yesteryear should be put into DVD but it still rare in VHS.I have this movie in my collection and think any collector of this genre would be happy to have it in such a collection. Young Brenda Vacarro is wonderful in this, as is Alexis Smith,Melina Mercouri, Debra Raffin, David Jansen and a host of others. A really must see movie! J Susanne, said to be bi herself, did this portrayal of lesbian love, in the days when it had to be SO hidden. And they go to great lengths to hide it, this couple of middle aged women who seem to really enjoy one another. Be sure to look at my other favorite movies on here.
