I'm really enjoying these Euro-cop films. They are gritty, ugly and satisfying exploitation films featuring cops and criminals inflicting sadistic violence on one another. Anyway, "Syndicate Sadists" is a good, if not great example of the genre directing by Umberto Lenzi ("Eyeball", "Cannibal Ferox") and staring Thomas Milian ("Django Kill", "Don't Torture a Duckling"). There is quite a bit I enjoyed in "Syndicate Sadists". First off, Thomas Milian is excellent in his role of the drifter Rambo, he gives of a great sense of coolness and his beard perfectly emphasizes his tough guy, take no crap from anyone character. I also enjoyed Lenzi's direction quite a bit. He utilizes some great camera movements, particularly in the opening scene where Milian is riding on his motorcycle. "Syndicate Sadists" also delivers quite well on the violence and I liked the score quite a bit. This film does have its flaws though. First off, with the exception of Milian, the rest of the cast fails to stand out. This also drags in a few places, most notably towards the middle of the film. Overall though this is still a solid and enjoyable Euro-cop movie that fans of the genre will find worth their time to check it out.
