Olivia Wilde has refueled rumors of a budding romance with funnyman Jason Sudeikis after accompanying him to his native Kansas for the holidays. The actress was spotted sitting with the Saturday Night Live regular at a University of Kansas (Ku) men's basketball game on Thursday (29 Dec. 2011). The rumored couple both donned Ku caps to cheer on Sudeikis' beloved Jayhawks, and they even smiled and posed together when they were displayed on the arena's big screen during a time-out. Wilde's divorce from filmmaker/musician Tao Ruspoli was finalized in September (2011), and earlier this month (Dec11) she was Sudeikis' date to a SNL afterparty. © WENN »

Olivia Wilde was seen attending a basketball game with Jason Sudeikis on Thursday night, December 29. The rumored couple watched the University of Kansas Jayhawks playing against Sam Houston State University's Howard Bison.
The actress, played Liza in "Blackbird", was seen donning a Kansas knit cap and a white t-shirt during the outing which took place in Lawrence, Kansas. As for her rumored boyfriend, the comedian opted for a blue cap and a hooded jacket.
The dating rumor of Olivia and Jason emerged earlier this month after a source testified to have spotted the 27-year-old actress visiting the "Saturday Night Live" actor on the set of the variety show. The source said back then, "She's come to the (SNL) studio at Rockefeller Center, and they've gone out to dinner after rehearsals."
Before being romantically linked to Jason, Olivia was married to Italian prince Tao Ruspoli but split from him last October. »
Jason Sudeikis returned home to Kansas over the holidays and brought along a special guest, girlfriend Olivia Wilde. Jason and Olivia cheered on the Ku Jayhawks last night as the team crushed their opponents, Howard, in a 89-34 victory. The pair mingled with the hometown crowd and wore matching blue and white Ku hats. Olivia and Jason were first linked as a couple earlier this month when she accompanied him to the an SNL afterparty at NYC's Loi. It looks like Jason and Olivia are ending 2011 on a high note, and the next year already looks promising for both actors. She's starring in multiple projects including The Words with Bradley Cooper and Zoe Saldana. Meanwhile, Jason returns to his reoccurring role on SNL and also joins Will Ferrell, Zach Galifianakis, and Dan Aykroyd on the big screen in the upcoming political comedy Dog Fight. In 2011, I saw more new movies than I ever have in the past. Previous years I'd flirted with roughly two per week but, this year, thanks to a full Sundance Film Festival, Fantastic Fest, Butt-Numb-a-Thon and other events like AFI Fest and the Los Angeles Film Festival, that number jumped up to 167. Several of those won't be released until 2012 and others won't get released at all, but it's still a more than sufficient cross section of 2011 releases to adequately speak on the state of film in 2011 and give my top ten movies of the year. (Note: Any film that didn't get an Oscar qualifying 2011 theatrical run did not qualify for this list. That's just my personal rule.) For me, 2011 was the year of "good, but not great." You know the type. A film that does everything right, is entertaining, emotional, but doesn't stick with you once you've left the theater. »

A few months ago, Saturday Night Live envisioned an aggressive NJ Gov. Chris Christie putting on his biggest show to get America to like Mitt Romney. With the Iowa caucuses less than a week away, life is now imitating art, as Christie yelled at an Iowa crowd today that if they dared not "do what you're supposed to do on Tuesday," he would be back. Presumably with some sort of vengeance. »

Carrie Brownstein has suggested that her and Fred Armisen's comedy series Portlandia has been influenced by The Kids in the Hall. Brownstein recalled that the classic Canadian show The Kids in the Hall was the very first comedy series that she watched "repeatedly and incessantly, in the same way one would play a song over and over", according to The New York Times. The musician-actress went on to suggest that both Portlandia and The Kids in the Hall share many of the same themes. "[Both shows touch on] some pretty trenchant portrayals of interpersonal dynamics: fathers and sons, husbands and wives, office co-workers," Brownstein said. The Kids in the Hall, which was produced by Saturday Night Live's Lorne Michaels, gained a cult following during its five-season run. (more) »

Jason Sudeikis might do anything for a laugh on Saturday Night Live, but he takes college basketball seriously - and has apparently recruited Olivia Wilde as a fan of his beloved University of Kansas Jayhawks. Sudeikis, 36, and Wilde, 27, were spotted at a Jayhawks basketball game in Lawrence, Kan., Thursday night, sporting KU hats as they cheered on the team. Sudeikis in particular also had his own supporters in attendance. Fans were thrilled to see the SNL star, a longtime fan who considers Kansas home. One section of the arena even held up letters that spelled out "Sudeikis." Though Wilde and »

Here’s a new poster for the Will Ferrell and Adam McKay-produced Spanglish comedy, Casa de mi Padre (House of My Father) previously titled Untitled Spanish Comedy. The film, which is being described to be in the style of an ‘overly dramatic telenovela’ stars Will Ferrell (Saturday Night Live), Gael García Bernal (The Motorcycle Diaries), Génesis [...]

Chicago – Two actors who made a mark in film during the 1980s did it at different points in their lives. Anthony Michael Hall was a teen idol, channeling director John Hughes in “The Breakfast Club” and “Sixteen Candles.” Lou Gossett Jr. won a mid-career Oscar for his role in 1982’s “An Officer and a Gentleman.”
Both men made an appearance at the 2011 Chicago Wizard World Comic Con, interacting with admirers and signing autographs. HollywoodChicago.com got the opportunity to interview each of them about their lives and careers then and now.

After releasing a teaser trailer in addition to some teaser posters for Casa de mi Padre, two new official posters have popped up for the Spanish comedy starring Will Ferrell. The plot revolves around a Mexican rancher (Ferrell) who must save his family’s farm while defeating a notorious drug lord and winning the hand of the lovely Sonia. Casa de mi Padre also stars Gael Garcia Bernal (The Motorcycle Diaries) and Genesis Rodriguez (Man on a Ledge). Hit the jump to check out the posters. These stylized posters are definite eye-catchers. I can almost hear the eagle’s call, if it weren’t for that snake in its mouth. I particularly enjoy the taglines “Funniest Movie You’ll Ever Read” and “From the Gringos Who Brought You ‘Anchorman.’” The film was directed by Matt Piedmont (Funny or Die) from a screenplay by Andrew Steele (Saturday Night Live). According to an E! Online report, the couple has been experiencing "problems," which has led to the pair spending "a lot of time apart" -- including Christmas.
The trouble really began to intensify in early December, according to E!, leaving Perry "a mess" and spending the holidays swimming in Hawaii, while Brand returned to his homeland of England. Perry and Brand have been married since October 2010.
Although this isn't the first time the rumor mill has churned out problems for the couple, reports in early December had Brand giving his wife "Saturday Night Live" hosting advice and telling Jimmy Kimmel about how they got tattoos together over Thanksgiving.
Neither Perry nor Brand have spoken out publicly about the rumors. Since we kind of love these two crazy kids together, we're hoping that's all the stories are -- rumors. »
I may live in Portland, Oregon now, but when I first saw Portlandia, I was a Chicagoan — and I loved the show. In fact, I've been a fan of Carrie Brownstein and Fred Armisen's collaborative comedy since they were called ThunderAnt with a website and some videos, including the feminist bookstore sketch they recreated for their hit IFC series.
In ThunderAnt videos, the plot wasn't Portland-specific, but neither is Portlandia, really, which is why the show has been so successful. The characters Carrie and Fred play are everywhere, and they are people you don't see highlighted as often on television, even on Fred's other gig at Saturday Night Live. Portlandia is the place where the feminist bookstore workers can co-exist with bearded bicycle messengers and overzealous organic farm-to-table eaters and a mayor who prefers sitting on an exercise ball to an office chair. That's Portland, yes, but it's also »

Former Saturday Night Live star Victoria Jackson has claimed to have proof that the United States is being overtaken by a Muslim group. Jackson claimed on her internet talkshow Politichicks that intelligence sources showed her proof that the Us government has been "infiltrated" by the Muslim Brotherhood, a group which played a role in Egypt's revolution earlier this year. The comic said at her apparently high-level meeting: "I just went to a briefing in Washington DC, across the street from the Capitol, at the Longworth building at 8.30am two days ago and it changed my life... "For six hours, I saw pictures and names and dates and facts and Islamic law books and Korans, Surahs for six hours and they proved to me... that the Muslim Brotherhood has infiltrated our highest positions in government and this is serious." Jackson also alleged (more) »

Songstress Katy Perry stopped by The Grove to launch her new fragrance, Meow, and to shoot the breeze with "Extra" host Mario Lopez about her 2012 Grammy nominations, her hosting stint on "Saturday Night Live" - and her grandmother's crush on Mario.
"My grandmother loves you so much!" exclaimed Perry. "You guys may not know it, but at the Grammys when I brought my grandmother, she's so in love with Mario she's like..." [touches Mario's dimples].
