Trivia

Several episodes were not performed in Studio 8H in Manhattan. On October 16, 23, and 30, 1976, the show moved to a Brooklyn studio, because the NBC News election unit used Studio 8H for 1976 election coverage. Several episodes in 1984 were produced in RCA Bldg Studios 8G and 3A, due to election coverage. The February 20, 1977 episode was performed live in New Orleans on a Sunday. See more »

Quotes

Regis Philbin: We went to this little restaurant on the Upper East Side called Aboo Dabby which you know in Italian means...
Kathy Lee Gifford: [makes hand motions] "Affection".
Regis Philbin: No, no, it's actually "abundance".
Kathy Lee Gifford: Oh, ok. "Abundance".
[makes another hand motion]
Regis Philbin: And there was so much food, that at one point Gail looked at me and said, "You expect me to eat all this?"
Kathy Lee Gifford: [starts jumping up and down in the seat] Oh. Oh, what did Gail say? What did Gail say?
Regis Philbin: I, I just told you what Gail said.

Your TV's on and off relationship!
13 July 2002 | by (Your Critic of Critics) – See all my reviews

I like to describe this show like a on and off relationship because one year this show is funny and the next it sucks and it's like that year after year. Still it always manages to make you laugh and it has been the breakthrough show for some of the greatest comedians of all-time.
