Musical director Lenny Pickett has been the tenor sax soloist on the opening theme since the beginning of the 1985-1986 season; during that time he has never missed even one episode. His fellow musical director, L. Leon Pendarvis, has been in the house band since the 1980-1981 season and may possibly be the musician with the longest tenure in a TV show band ever. See more
