Extraordinary Japanese director, 8 February 2004
Author: rafemac from Toronto, Canada

I rented this movie out of curiosity. Having recently read "Memoire Of A Geisha", I thought this film might be interesting but was unprepared to be blown away by its stunning direction, cinematography and performances and its extremely erotic content. No wonder it wasn't (to my knowledge) ever released in North America. It wouldn't have been tolerated in the early 1970's, certainly not in Ontario. Upon Googling his name, I discovered that Tatsumi Kumashiro was the greatest director of so called "pink" films, a genre of Japanese movie created to lure audiences away from TV and back into theatres by depicting quite graphic but non-explicit sex. Who knew that sex sells? Go figure. This may be irrelevant, but I'm gay, really gay so, when I tell you that this movie is not only brilliant but a major turn-on, you should trust me. It was never ever intended for my kind. I'm not exactly sure how that heterosexual seduction thing works but watch this movie with a specially chosen but unsuspecting friend (in the interests of World Cinema.) and you won't be disappointed.
