Although FIRE DOWN BELOW isn't the roughest of the roughie titles out there, it looks like the producers did the best they could with their two-figure budget. Nearly all of the dialogue is voice-overs, the "score" is I'm sure stolen from bigger films, but regardless, this one has an undeniable "charm" to it...
This one plays out as a pseudo-documentary where the narrator talks about how budget cuts have let violent criminals out of jail and back on the streets. We witness the antics of a bulldogish ex-con who peeps on couples having sex, and then has a few antics of his own where he rapes or picks up hookers and strangles them...
Needless to say, FIRE DOWN BELOW is a pretty much zero-budget affair - but it's really no-worse-for-the-wear because of it. The biggest thing I noticed was that the female cast are all pretty goddamn hot for such a cheap film. The blonde in the first scene is absolutely smokin' - she looks like a younger version of Hugh Hefner's main girlfriend from that GIRLS NEXT DOOR show, and she takes fingers up the bung and licks up the spunk like a bona-fide ho - a beauty to behold. There are a few other notable scenes - one of which comes from a trash-talking little whore (who looks like a sexier, younger Linda Blair) who makes fun of her john's cock the whole time. Anyway - grab this one if you have the chance if you're a fan of this sort of material. Again, don't expect an all-out sleaze-fest, but it's definitely entertaining...8/10
