NYFF55 Revivals Includes Restored Films By Godard, Hou, Costa, Tarkovsky & More

It’s a given that their Main Slate — the fresh, the recently buzzed-about, the mysterious, the anticipated — will be the New York Film Festival’s primary point of attraction for both media coverage and ticket sales. But while a rather fine lineup is, to these eyes, deserving of such treatment, the festival’s latest Revivals section — i.e. “important works from renowned filmmakers that have been digitally remastered, restored, and preserved with the assistance of generous partners,” per their press release — is in a whole other class, one titanic name after another granted a representation that these particular works have so long lacked.

The list speaks for itself, even (or especially) if you’re more likely to recognize a director than title. Included therein are films by Andrei Tarkovsky (The Sacrifice), Hou Hsiao-hsien (Daughter of the Nile, a personal favorite), Pedro Costa (Casa de Lava; trailer here), Jean-Luc Godard (the rarely seen,

Model Rosa Barney Says Loving Her Curves Was a Process: ‘Body Acceptance Doesn’t Happen Overnight’

Rosa Barney can confidently pose in lingerie, but the curve model says she wasn’t always comfortable in her skin.

“When I was a kid, and even as a teenager, I always felt really out of place,” Barney, 27, tells People. “I was always the tallest kid in the class — taller than the boys. I was never small in any way, whether it was height or being bigger in the middle, and it was definitely something I was very self-conscious of. It wasn’t really until I was an adult, and actually the true turnaround was when I was approached to model,

Investigating ‘Big Little Lies’: ‘Somebody’s Dead,’ But Who Died and Who Did It?
[Editor’s Note: The following review contains spoilers for “Big Little Lies” Episode 1, “Somebody’s Dead.”]

Madeline’s comin’, yo!

Ok, Ok, no one would ever say that on “Big Little Lies” (or probably even get the reference), but in a Baltimore-based version of HBO’s new mystery, can’t you imagine the other Monterrey moms warning one another every time Reese Witherspoon’s power mom came walking into school? Since the very first frames of Episode 1, Madeline dominates her world with an aura some may fear and others may covet.

But does that make her the killer or the killee? We weren’t given many hints toward the murderer or victim’s identity in the first hour of Jean-Marc Vallee’s new limited series, but that doens’t mean we’re lacking in theories. Below, we’ve taken each major character introduced in the premiere and broken down what we know about them, what we don’t, and what it might all mean toward the series’ larger mystery: Whodunnit?

Prepare to meet Danny Fields. A music industry whiz kid who helped make punk rock, well, punk rock, Fields has lived a thousand lives since his rise in the ’60s. A music manager, publicist, journalist and author, Fields has done it all, even though he could have quite easily rested on certain career highlights like “signed and managed Iggy and the Stooges” or “signed the MC5” or “managed The Ramones” or “worked with Jim Morrison and The Velvet Underground.” And that’s just a taste of Fields’ wide-ranging career.

So what could possibly be next for Fields? How about his very own documentary? “Danny Says,” from filmmaker Brendan Toller, promises to deliver a full look at Fields’ live and legacy (as aided by the man himself), complete with something for both music industry veterans and newbies looking to see where it all began.

Some details about "How I Met Your Mother's" spinoff "How I Met Your Dad" have leaked, and it's safe to say "Himym" fans will recognize their show in the new one.

Becki Newton, 'How I Met Your Mother' creators join forces for Fox comedy pilot

Becki Newton's guest arc on "How I Met Your Mother" must have gone pretty well, because she and the show's creators are working together again.

"Himym" creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas have received a pilot order from Fox for a comedy called "The Goodwin Games," and Newton ("Ugly Betty," "Love Bites") will star in it. Per EW, the show revolves around three siblings whose father leaves them a fortune, but only "if they agree to his terms."
