Storyline

Edit
How to teach a swinging bachelor a lesson about love? As magazine publisher Michael Green celebrates his big 4-0, he finds a bikini-clad Sandy Benson wrapped in a big bow as a birthday present, supposedly courtesy of his drinking buddies. After he trades barbs with the former beauty-pageant winner, they find that they have an attraction of sorts and she sticks around. Romance abounds as this country girl goes looking for romance in the big city in a typical television romantic comedy fashion. —laird-3

Did you know

Edit
  • Trivia
In this movie there is a disdainful reference to Ingrid Bergman as "that woman". This is a joke lost on the present generation, but in 1974 it would have made much more sense. This is a reference to the scandal when Bergman left her husband and daughter to live with Italian director Roberto Rossellini, and give birth to a child out of wedlock.
  • Goofs
The film's conclusion is set in Kenosha, Wisconsin, but mountains are clearly seen in the distant background.
  • Quotes

Michael Green: I have this phobia about getting to be 40. I don't know. When you're in your twenties, everybody says "boy genius!" And then when you're in your thirties, "Ah, yes! Young man on the way up!" You get to be forty... zip. Nothin'. No more adjectives. Just a man.
