During the opening credits, there is a scene showing Petrocelli's office window on the second floor of an old building that says "Navajo Indian Trading Post" on the side. That remodeled building, which was a curio shop, still stands in downtown Tucson, AZ.

Barry Newman and his character Tony Petrocelli are originally from Boston, Massachusetts. Susan Howard and her character Maggie Petrocelli are originally from Marshall, Texas.

NBC canceled the series in 1976 without airing three episodes: "The Pay Off," "Shadow of a Doubt," and "Jubilee Jones." Those segments eventually aired in syndication.
