Short-lived Saturday morning live-action series about the daily struggles of an extended family of Neanderthals in prehistoric Europe. Crisp narration by veteran actor Burgess Meredith lent a "documentarian" feel, suggesting that the show was a dramatic re-creation of how life might have been 72,000 years ago. Written by
Neanderthal man left no written records of his history, just some bones, tools, and burial mounds. This story is based upon assumptions and theories drawn from those artifacts. It might have happened in seventy-thousand B.C.
[repeated at the end of every episode, with almsot no variation]

I remember this show as a kid, an really enjoyed it although I can't remember a lot of details about it, I did enjoy it! It was different from the other similar shows on at the time, Valley of the dinosaur's an land of the lost, it was not animated like Valley of the dinosaur's an more of a reality show than land of the lost! Not your typical campy Saturday morning show! I would love to see it on DVD soon as its been 30 years since I've seen it, it would be almost like watching a new show again! Its to bad it had a very short run, only around 16 episodes or so because of competition with the very popular land of the lost I believe!!!
