Storyline

Christie Love was a very beautiful and quite charming black woman who also happened to be a skilled undercover operative with the Los Angeles Police Department. Her smarts and skills often came in handy when posing as a prostitute, jewel thief, etc. in an effort to bring down the bad guys. Her boss was Lt. Reardon, who was replaced by Capt. Ryan. Caruso, Belmont, Valencia and Gallagher were cops with whom Christie worked. Written by Marty McKee <mmckee@soltec.net>

Cicely Tyson was originally cast as Christie Love, but was involved in an accident just a day before beginning work on the series. Executive producer David L. Wolper was understanding of the situation and recast the role. The two would eventually work together on the mini-series Roots (1977). See more »

Look Out Sugar!
14 December 2000 | by (Chicago, USA) – See all my reviews

Teresa Graves was a cast member on "Laugh-In" before headlining this cop show. Christie Love was an expert at undercover work. She relied on her street smarts and sass to get her out of danger. Her favorite ploy was to pretend that she was helpless when confronted by villians, then surprising them by using her martial arts skills on them. The series was the result of a high-rated ABC Movie Of The Week. Unfortunately, wisecracks and heavy action sequences weren't enough to keep this on the air for more than a season.
