Trip with the Teacher (1975)

Crown International flick was probably popular at the drive-in but time hasn't been too friendly to the film. In yet another rip off of Wes Craven's The Last House on the Left, this time a teacher takes four of her students on a camping trip in the desert but when their bus breaks down they're attacked by two psychotic brothers on motorcycles. This is a rather bizarre cross between Easy Rider and the Craven film but it fails on both levels. The first thirty-minutes are somewhat entertaining but the film quickly falls apart and becomes rather boring. There's really nothing here to separate it from the countless drive-in film of the era as there's very little nudity, a mild rape scene and very little violence. I'm not sure why you want to rip off one of the most notorious films of the decade and then take away anything graphic. The performances are all rather bad, which does add some charm but the weak screenplay is what really kills the film. The one and only Zalmon King plays the main bad guy.
