Storyline

Most of the Peanuts gang is having trouble at school, but none more than Charlie Brown. In fact, he is told that he needs an "A" on a field trip report on an art museum or he will fail his grade. Unfortunately, Peppermint Patty, over-tired by Marcie waking her up at 4:00 in the morning, inadvertently distracts Charlie Brown and his sister from their group and they all mistake a neighboring supermarket for the art museum. Even as they try to understand why all the displays are for sale so cheaply, Patty's weariness and her own ambivalent feelings about Chuck causes her to blurt out some hurtful comments about him. Now, Charlie Brown is going to have to realize his basic mistake in his report, while Marcie and Peppermint Patty search for a way of making amends to the boy they both secretly like in their own way. Quotes

[first lines]
Sally: [wakes up] My alarm clock didn't go off!
[she takes her alarm clock and shakes it and goes to the kitchen to Charlie Brown]
Sally: Maybe I wound it too tight. Sometimes if you wind an alarm clock too tight, it won't go off.
Charlie Brown: We're all a little that way.
[Sally and Charlie Brown walk to school]
Charlie Brown: You're really something, do you know that? I've never seen anyone who is so uptight about school. Why do you just relax?
[Sally is standing on her desk at school in the next scene]
Sally: [confused] Who can ...

It's FieldTrip Time
14 December 2013 | by (North America) – See all my reviews

Ninth animated special based on the Charles M. Schulz specials is about how Charlie Brown and his friends are having a tough time learning in school, so are taken on a field trip to write a report about an art gallery, but Charlie and some friends become confused and mistake a neighboring grocery store as the art gallery, and are confused about the cheap prices and strange art...Meanwhile, new girl Marcie is most persistent in making sure Peppermint Patty doesn't forget to be her field trip buddy, but gets to know Charlie Brown instead! Marcie's debut is the best thing about this one, being a likable and appealing original, otherwise merely adequate tale, but does have a nice ending.
