I gave this movie a 10 just for the rap/monologue that takes place in the barbershop. It really is mind blowing. There's one line about being a "population maker" that I'm still cracking up about.
Thats not to say the rest of the film is bad. The whole movie just surpassed every expectation and prejudgment I had when I saw the title; Everything from the characters names (sweet meat, stormy Monday - the karate chic expert) to the father breaking the 4th wall and communicating w/ the audience just made this film a surreal experience. I came away thinking that if John Hughes (breakfast club) made a black exploitation family movie instead of a teen drama - this is what the outcome would be.
This film definitely kept me more entertained than any current movie thats out now playing.
