Arguably horror is the most symbolic of film genres, as it relies heavily on senses and imagery to convey suspense and the moral message of the story. The mark of successful horror films as seen in the last few years such as The Babadook, Don’t Breathe, and this year’s sensation Get Out, have managed to balance tone and exposition well – paving the path for more sophisticated endeavours. Sadly, Caradog W. James’ Don’t Knock Twice seems to be taking backward steps down that path, in what can only be described as a juvenile and slapdash piece of cinema.

Keanu Reeves return to play the legendary hitman from the surprise hit of 2014. He is forced back out of retirement by a former associate plotting to seize control of a shadowy international assassins’ guild. Bound by a blood oath to help him, John travels to Rom where he squares off against some of the world’s deadliest killers.
Ian McShane, Lance Reddick, John Leguizamo and Bridget Moynahan return for this sequel. The newcomers are Common, Riccardo Scamarcio and Ruby Rose. The movie is directed by Chad Stahelski and written by Derek Kolstad.
Lrm had a sit-down interview with actor Keanu Reeves late last month to discuss the action, weapons training and working with his co-stars for the film.

John Wick: Chapter 2 arrives in UK cinemas on February 17th 2017. The film is a sequel to 2014’s John Wick, the film that re-established Keanu Reeves as an A-List action star. The story told of a retired hit-man who found himself back in the seedy criminal world after his beloved dog, a gift from his deceased wife, was murdered. When John Wick was first introduced to the moviegoing masses three years ago, co-directors Chad Stahelski and David Leitch did a remarkable job of establishing the mythos of Keanu Reeves’ assassin. Often referred to as the Boogeyman and/or Baba Yaga, even when Reeves wasn’t on the screen characters spoke of his elusive hitman in hushed whispers, as though they were fearful of summoning the devil himself. The truth, however, was much worse.
