A scene in which Terry and Bob fantasise with each other about schoolgirls was later used by comedienne Shappi Khorsandi in the Channel 4 programme It Was Alright in the 70s (2014) as an example of how society's attitude to acceptable sexual humour had changed in 40 years.

In the opening episode "Strangers on a Train", James Mellor appears as the gay buffet steward who makes a pass at Terry. He would reappear later in the series in "One For The Road", as the policeman who breathalyses Bob and arrests him for drinking and driving.
