In an attempt to "liven up" the show, the producers tried to add an "evil alien" to the cast. Their alien was Walter Koenig, wearing Go-Go boots.

Writer Harlan Ellison, unhappy with changes made to his concept for the show, had his credit changed to the pseudonym "Cordwainer Bird."

This show had a budget typical for an hour-long Canadian series (it was shot on video-tape, as all regular TV shows were at that time; use of film for TV shows did not become common until the '90s), but a lot of it went to Keir Dullea, and more on building a bridge set when the show bible didn't call for one (it wouldn't be needed until the end of the series).

Some of the background music was taken directly from the 1969-70 soap opera "Strange Paradise" (another low budget Canadian production).
