Storyline
Did you know
- TriviaThis program was originally titled "You're Elected, Charlie Brown", a phrase Linus actually speaks early in the show. In later showings, the word "Not" was added to the title, in deference to the fact that the plot actually focuses on Linus' run for student body president. This explains why there's a carat with the word "Not" on the blackboard and why the chorus still sings "You're elected, Charlie Brown".
- GoofsWhen the kids are counting the votes, the count of votes on the chalkboard do not match what Schroeder is saying.
- Quotes
Linus van Pelt: If I'm elected, my first act as president will be to appear before the School Board.
[Lucy whispers in his ear]
Linus van Pelt: I'm sorry. I will not be able to appear before the School Board. They meet at 8:00, and I go to bed at 7:30.

Classic Peanuts Special!
'You're Not Elected, Charlie Brown' is pretty good. I definitely think this is one of the best Peanuts specials.
Disgruntled that Sally can't open her locker even with the help of Charlie Brown, it seems someone needs to do something about it! She her needs her "sweet baboo", Linus to run for student body president. Linus is clearly well-liked but can he stay on topic for the election? Watch and you'll be thoroughly pleased with how this turns out!
This special has all the classic Peanuts themes like kids being kids but still having some greater philosophical thinking. The animation is on point, the jokes are timeless, and the music is still amazing! There's even appearance from Joe Cool!
Give it a watch! Its pretty good and probably much better than you might remember as a kid!
