Helen Mirren, known for her television work in "Prime Suspect," among her other stage triumphs shines in this academic recording of a stage performance of Miss Julie. After seeing this movie, I doubt that any actress could play Miss Julie with the depth she deserves. The movie, however, doesn't lend itself well to the screen with the single set, and the quality of recording. Jean's character turns out well, and the set is nice, but the movie is simply useful, these days, for use in classrooms.
