• The 1999 UK video was cut by 20 secs by the BBFC to edit a scene where 2 women are attacked and stripped topless by a samurai gang, and the Artsmagic DVD featured the same print. The 2009 Eureka release (featured in the "Lone Wolf & Cub Collection") is fully uncut.
  
  
• The original theatrical USA release of the 1970s had the "origin" flashback from Lone Wolf and Cub: Sword of Vengeance (1972) ("Lone Wolf and Cub: Sword of Vengeance") edited in, was dubbed into English, and retitled "Lightning Swords of Death." In the 1990s and without the flashback, that was released panned-&-scanned on VHS as "Lupine Wolf."
