Trivia:
Because of its tight shooting schedule and low budget the film couldn't afford to have snow created for the exterior scenes. Instead it was opted to have rain outside through out the film for a more moody atmosphere. A fire hose had to be used to create the rain for the outdoor scenes, which is why in some shots the sky is obviously clear even though it suppose to be raining.

HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS is a good suspense thriller. I have heard over the yrs. That this film was an inept rip-off of FRIDAY THE 13th when it is not because HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS was made before FRIDAY THE 13TH. So do not be fouled HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS is a chiller with Sally Field and Julie Harris. Walter Breenan's performance is great to. Joseph Stefanno ( PSYCHO ) has a good script and the director has a lot of tension involed in the film. So it goes on as people are invited to a ranch during christmas with someone dressed in a poncho ready to kill them with a pitchfork! Well I liked it a good thriller always keeps you on the edge. The only thing fans will see is that it dose not inculde much gore for a made for t.v film.
