'Disciple of Death is in many ways a truly a stupendous, if not just a little turgid, UK horror marvel starring that wan-faced oaf Mike Raven; a pedestrian DJ, turned character-less 'actor'; a cinematic void whose strident, razor-sharp goatee provides a welcome respite from his lugubrious, and somewhat ephemeral charisma. That said, I do quite admire the stalwart effort Raven puts in here in an attempt to be the consummate, be-cloaked, Karloff-ian villain; and, to be fair, it's his stern, grand enthusiasms which ultimately make 'Disciple of Death' such an amusing exercise.
(Do watch out for a modest cameo from future Dr. Who & 'The Omega Factor' star Louise Jameson as a be-shrouded succubus)
